tough to tell. with cash injury, jj not playing in the second half, and jp banged up can't really say we gave pitt 100% last night....but the issues are all the same even with 100% cats.

the question is why? why do we see the same thing game after game, and to be honest, year after year. it's so frustrating to watch. it cant be difficult to scout cincy...is this why we lost 3 out of 5? is it coaching, players,or just teams know what is coming?

really thought things would be diffrent this year and so did the staff. but not so much. cats sure did pick the wrong time of year to go into a funk...but is it a funk or just the norm?

Could worse, like going cold in March, still got time. Time for them to get a go ole kick in the ass and start winning, though. I think they shouldn't keep playing Cash, just let him rest for 1-2 weeks and go from there. Guyn did a good enough job against 'Cuse and Marquette, why not play him? He is better than a hurt Cash, we really need Cash for the BE tourney and NCAA tourney. Less Rubles, more Shaq/Sanders and tell them to be aggressive. Tell SK to mix it up more and drive to the rim, so that he isn't so 1 dimensional. Parker and Jackson need to continue to step up and Cheikh must be less aggressive on d.

I agree with more Shaq and Sanders but they need their team to trust them. Sanders was standing wide open a few times yesterday and couldn't get the ball. Shaq has strung some nice moments together in limited minutes. He's going to be tough when he gets a little stronger. Guyn also had a great drive to the rim about mid-way through the second half. A little more out of those 3 would do wonders for this team.

I heard Mick saying that they didn't want to take shots from SK and Cash, so he has encouraged them to not worry about that and not be timid. I noticed both of them pass up open shots the past few games, they must be aggressive for us to be successful.

it's weird to say but I hope they develop a little selfish streak soon.

Yeah, this team needs one of these reserves to step up, because right now, they all seem to be struggling to step up. I really like Sanders, he has shown flashes where he can get to the rim and also knock down 3s. Shaq is an excellent slasher, that something that can really open up our offense and create easier shots. Like you said, the time is now.....

All I know is I hate this team. My least favorite bearcat team since I became a bearcat fan.

I do think multiple injuries have effected them, but there is a visable lack of confidence from these guys too right now. Mentally they aren't locked in at all. They simply give away too many posessions with poor decisions and turnovers. Good teams find ways to overcome bad shooting, this team doesn't seem to have the ability to lock in mentally and do that.

I was thinking the same thing. They lack mental toughness. The let every little thing effect them. SK is timid with the ball. Cheik is timid in the post. We really don't have a guy who has a killer attitude. Smith guy of Georgetown is the same built as SK but as confidence and ball IQ to get his shot off.

Timid is a great word. I think it's dead on. Cheikh is athletic enough to score in the post if he'd be aggressive. Maybe not 10-12 ppg, but he could give you 7-8 a game. SK disappears for long periods in games. I know teams try to take him away but he has to want the ball and demand it. Cash makes almost no effort to penetrate. Yes, timid is a good word.

timid...thats the word i have been searching for the last 2 weeks

Why not go root for somebody else?!

He's allowed to have an opinion without some joke challenging his fan support. The truth is this team is hard to watch. I'm not sure we're still a tourney team to be honest. We need another scorer on this team.

Unfortunately our schedule is doing us no favors right now. Last night's game was tough but we lost to a very good team. Losing a close game to a legitimate top 20 team does not mean you're no longer a tourney team. And there's a very good possibility we lose our next four if we coninue this slump. The frustrating part is we outplayed them and lost because we can't put the ball in the hoop. Timid is a good word to describe us but I think tired is too. I think we expend too much energy on defense that we relax on offense and just lose focus. I know Mick preaches defense first and I like that but I am tired of the excuses for the offense. Put the ball in the hoop. They can run an offense and get good shots when they want, they put forth no effort to execute their shots. They don't square themselves to the basket when the shoot anything inside fifteen feet. They flick the ball in the air from whatever position they find themselves in. They shoot way too many threes for a team that clearly isn't hitting them as of late. When the game was on the line we decide to want to hit the big three rather than do what kept us in the game for the first 36 minutes -- attacking the basket.

I noticed the message boards have been mostly dead since that loss. It took the wind out of the sails of Bearcat fans.

This makes me happy, especially the 2:24 mark. Bring back the Catitude!
