You think quadri Moore needs more minutes hahahahahahahah

Yes. We will need him before the season is over, and he is going to be a good player. But to get better he needs more minutes. I know matchups matter, but hopefully they can work him in more starting Saturday.

His defense is very bad right now, he travels a lot and sets moving screens, he has great touch for a big guy, but does not fit into our system right now, he needs to be WAY better defensively

22 mins 0 points holding the ball in the corner and not doing anything with it and letting shot clock get down to under 7 seconds like 6 times. When kj is on offense and he can't make a shot I cringe, he is the worst passer on the team as well

KJ was +5 last night. Caupain +6, Clark +4, Shaq -4. We seem to have done alright with him out there.

I hope that kj reads these posts and uses them to fuel him to get better, it's just constructive criticism he makes too many lackadaisical passes and makes poor decisions offensively. There has really been like 2 games this year he was productive offensively cobb has had way more than 2 games. I want kj to get better but we have to play for the now and not the future and right now Cobb is better no question.

Cobb and KJ both have 5 games in double figures. Anyway, doean't matter...moving on...

Our pg travels LITERALLY every time he's tries the triple threat

I thought we were past the Cobb is the second coming and KJ shouldn't be on the team crap but two subpar games from KJ and a few threes by Cobb and suddenly we are back on this bus.

We were only past the Cobb thing when he went 9-35 (25.7 %) from the floor and 7-27 (25.9%) from 3 over a 7 game stretch.

But since he was hot for 2 games he's awesome again. You didn't know?

I'm not really sure why Cobb only gets remembered for his good games and KJ only gets remembered for his bad games. I guess people see what they want to see.

As usual it's a good thing none of us coach the team.

I don't follow this. What does Cobb's +/- have to do with what we were talking about? You said KJ against SMU was the worst performance of anyone all year...so I'm saying he was +5 in 22 minutes on the road against a ranked team. How does Cobb being +9 factor into that at all?

Both Cobb and KJ have had games where they stunk up the joint this year, but KJ's rancid moments havs far exceeded Cobbs. The big difference is that when Cobb stinks up the joint, he is on the bench getting far less playing time. KJ gets waaaaaay more opportunities to play his way out of his funk. I like KJ. He is a hometown boy, but the truth is, his play "most" of this season has been as bad as any starter I can ever remember. Cobb on the other hand has actually won games for us. He has taken over games single-handedly. He is far and away a more complete player than Johnson, but Johnson is the better on the ball defender. On last year's team, you could afford to have someone like KJ playing. On this year's team, you can't afford to "not" play Cobb. We don't have any stud players, which makes Cobb's presence on the floor that much more important.

KJ got a ton of hype in the preseason, but has been a huuuuuuge under-achiever. I honestly view him no differently than Shaq. When he goes up to take a shot, I cringe. When the ball goes in, I feel that it was just luck. KJ had that little stretch where we started to believe, but these last two games were just abysmal. This situation is a no-brainer. Cobb makes this team far better and gives this team a far higher ceiling than KJ. I don't really care what the coaching staff is seeing.

Again though, why does it have to be Cobb vs KJ? They both play a ton and they both have to. Like I said before, if one of them scores in double figures, I love our chances. And they are both being given a chance to do that each and every game. So why do the KJ haters (not you, just in general) force people to feel like they either have to pick sides and get defensive or watch KJ get beat down on this board for being a soph who just had a setback in 2 tough cobference road games? (before anyone says anything, I knoe ECU isn't "tough" but it was a loss and the team scored 46) Everyone speaks in such absolutes after one or 2 snapshots in a 35 game season (I have been guilty of this as well). Let's give the guy a chance to come back home and right the ship,

Also really? Are you sure Cobb gets far less playing time? Is 21.864 far less than 22.045? Bc that's how much they each play through 22 games. And Cobb is brand new to the program, so the fact that he is playing over half the game is really good. It isn't like one of these guys is getting a fair shot and the other has to ride the pine. So I don't get the what the huge obsession is with these 2 particular players.

Jake on your playing time point, the point that he was making is that when Cobb has a bad game he is in a short leash and gets benched. When kj has a bad game they just keep playing him when they should be giving maybe morman a try. Cobbs average on his minutes is so close to Kevin's because there has been games where he has played 35 mins and games he's played 10.

Kj definitely seems like he has a longer leash than Cobb, and your whole cobb vs kj theory doesn't really make sense because that's exactly what people were doing with shaq and sanders

First of all let's bring some reason to this.

1) It is not KJ vs. Cobb. They are teammates on a 16-6 team.

2) They both add value in their own way or they wouldn't play. The coaches see them daily, know their ability intimately, and don't play one or the other "just because".

3) Statisically they are very close and very similar players.

4) Playing time between them is scantily different.

5) Because there are no other options at pg the team needs Cobb in the role he is in.

Frankly, I want Cobb on the floor as much as possible not because he is vastly better than KJ, but because his streakiness can carry a team. He reminds me of Tony Bobbit (sp?) in that way. Also, believe the offense flows much better with him and TC on the floor together. But for those who think KJ adds no value you are wrong. There is no question to me that the guard rotation should primarily be Cobb, KJ, and TC with a sprinking of Morman. That's how I'd finish this season.
