I'm going to let my argument go because I hate when threads get out of hand. Although in fairness this thread was designed and started so we could debate Cobb vs. KJ. I just have hated seeing KJ get bashed all year. And with downtime the last couple days I've been able to argue on KJ's behalf. I like both players and root for every Bearcat regardless. You put that jersey on and you're like family to me in my eyes. And I mean that in all sincerity. I guess that's why I hate seeing guys get bashed, especially when in my opinion it is completely unfounded. The problem is there are posters that are completely clueless (and I don't mean everyone I've been debating with on this thread to be clear) and usually I'll let others debate them and just ignore them but if no one debates them then their heads get even more swollen that they think they know everything and that when they speak its the truth because no one counters their opinions.

To be clear and I will do my best to let it go, I really do get why people think Cobb should be starting and if that's someone's opinion then fine. It's the coaches decision regardless so us arguing is just a moot point. But when people go as far as to say Cobb is hands down better and think KJ brings nothing to the table I just take exception to that.

I'm glad people can voice their opinion with some good stats and without the name calling. I think this thread is a little much but we all remained respectful for the most part. Nothing wrong with that imo.

I agree I think this was a good discussion on this thread about one of the main controversies uc fans have with the team. I thought thats what this site was for haha

Everybody's input is always what they think is what's best for our team and truth is no matter what we all think we take time out of the day to post on here so u can't argue the fact that we all care about this program.

We're all on the same team

Ok if something ever happens to Gary Clark we are in trouble, he is a difference maker and it showed in this game. USF is bad as is + the fact they were missing there 2nd and 3rd leading scorers you would think we would beat them easily. I know we just had a very physical game against Smu but it seemed like when Clark left the game we were a completely different team.

You could say the same for Ellis and Troy and even potentially Cobb.

In reality we need those 4 to play big minutes.

I'm starting to see what everyone was saying when they suggested DeBerry at the 5 and Ellis at the 4 more often. DeBerry has played pretty well and he is strong enough to get away with a limited post game, bc frankly on this level he doesn't need a ton of moves. I'd like to play man defense, at very least to start games. I feel like we are so sluggish to start games all the time, and maybe I'm being too simple here, but zone defense is boring. We gotta get our rhythm going earlier in the game. Get out there and break a sweat. Run around and get in the game. Offensively and defensively, it is so rare for us to have more than a couple guys moving at a time. If Morman and DeBerry don't start that's fine, but they need to play about half the game imo. They give us good effort.

TC - 32
Cobb - 28
KJ - 15
Morman -20
Sanders - 25
Shaq - 12
Clark - 21
Ellis - 30
DeBerry - 17

I'd love to see the minutes break down like this since we are now down to 9 players. Obviously were gonna have no choice but to go smaller at times and I like the 3 guards + DeBerry lineup in those situations.

Sad to say but guyn getting hurt killed us at PG. Jack, remember I said guyn was no longer interested in basketball?

I know he can be inconsistent, but Clark needs to play more than 21 minutes. Other than that, I mostly agree.

Yeah haha I had him at a few more but then the math didn't add up. Maybe a few less for Sanders and Morman would work.

Trying to predict minutes of playing time is not practicle. There is foul trouble to consider. The numbers can also be impacted by who is in foul trouble. For instance one of TC or Cobb must be on the floor at all times. That is the big reason one starts and one comes off the bench. They are the only PG's we have on the roster. We turn the ball over at a high rate already without one in the game it would be ugly. Cobb is getting minutes subbing for TC And KJ. Really makes little difference if he is starting and getting 25 a game or subbing and getting 25 a game. The only issue is if TC is not on the floor it is IMPARATIVE that Cobb is on the floor. That is the reason he does not start over KJ.
