the kid has been beatup this year by fans(and some was earned) but if uc can get that type of play from him, i belive we can beat anyone in the country.

outstanding game jj!

If he can develop his offensive skills and mature mentally, his motor could drive him to be one of the best PFs in the BEast...great game

Mick said before the game he was coming off of his 2 best practices if his career and it showed. Love the energy and he seemed much more controlled. Need him to play like that the rest of this season.

His blocks were beasty tonight! I loved the one when he and Gaines tag teamed one. That would be a cool poster with a photo of it from behind.

I concur he had a great game but c'mon, let's just keep the hype in check a little. He is midway through his junior year and still has no offensive game. Don't expect it to all of a sudden show up with 1 1/2 years left. UC just needs him to be an above average PF. Being one of the best is far fetched IMO...His points tonight were due to the guards (finally) driving to the bucket and dishing it or ooping it to him....His blocks were awesome to see especially since they weren't from him allowing his man to drive by him. They were actually legitimate blocks (except the one that was completely goaltending). He still had at least 5 bone headed plays tonight but his blocks made up for it this game.

All in all he was a key contributor tonight and deserves his credit.

Q: how does it feel after getting a block?

A: like getting a new pair of shoes

This was in the post game comments and q&a by jj. LMAO, awesome answer lol

JJ plays hard and has his moments. Lastnight he did what we needed him to do. My issue with JJ is when he tries to do to much. Blocking shots, garbage points and high energy is what he brings to the table. Unfortunately on this team his spot needs to facilitate some offense for himself and others. This causes him to make decisions with the ball he is not equipped to do. Not his fault just the way it is.

Last night JJ played like he did at the end of last season which made us believe that he was coming into his own. JJ will never be an offensive threat but if he plays with that intensity he can be one of the best defensive players down low in the BE. I am hoping this becomes the norm for him but that may be expecting a lot after just one game.

For a game where Cash played tueeerrible. Really parker didnt play that great imo either....

Justin AND chek played amazing. If we can get that out of them. We will be in great shape.

Also I thought Gaines came in an was very active.

Jackson's dive out of bounds to save a rebound was the turning point of the game. It sparked the crowd and seemed to light a fire in the players. Been missing this out of Jackson. Hopefully, this effort and intensity remains the rest of the year. The team feeds off that. I think he got too focused on trying to improve offensively that he forgot his bread and butter. And yeah one block was complete goaltending, but when you're swatting things left and right the refs might give you the benefit of the doubt once in a while. Although I did like (sarcasm) how the one ref yelled at him for mugging for the crowd after his last block with about a minute left. And I would still like an explanation for why he wasn't able to sub-in near the end there.
