If I win the lottery, I will personally pay Tuberville to leave. The play calling, preparation, and discipline was hard to watch. If I see one more fade route to 5-9 receiver I will puke. Also what the hell was Tubbs thinking going for a two point conversion with 14:00 minutes left in the 3rd quarter!?! By the way, the play call was another fade route to a 5-9 receiver!

I cannot even begin to understand that decision. It makes no sense. None.

"At least we don't have to worry about going undefeated! I have no pressure now!" - Tuberville

"Takes pressure off these guys now that they've got one loss - unfortunately it came at home." - Coach Tuberville #Bearcats

Please tell me you're making this up. This can't be true.

All the energy is being zapped out of this program. Makes me sad.

His buyout is 1.5 million if we were to fire him right after the season, it is 1.0 million if we wait until after next season. Anyone got some cash laying around?

The actual quote and not the paraphrase. Interest of full disclosure

"These guys are resilient," Tuberville said. "They'll fight back. We can still have a great year. It probably takes some pressure off of them, knowing that they got this one out of the way and got beat.

"Unfortunately, it happened to us at home. Now we've got an uphill battle."

I don't think Tuberville has the passion and want anymore to win at a high level. I've thought that since we hired him and my opinion on the matter has only strengthened. It shows in his coaching, in his comments and it reflects on his team. I was pissed when we sat on the ball with 32 seconds and three timeouts, especially trailing and knowing Temple gets the ball first. The poor coaching decisions and the lack of fire is costing us and it's time for Tuberville to go. Yes we lost yesterday because of the turnovers and special teams mistakes and yes I was happy the players fought hard to the final seconds and made the comeback. But Tuberville does not have what it takes to elevate a program anymore. It's evident. We are a good team and have talent, but we won't play the flawless football required to overcome the deficiencies in our coaching. With that said, he is the coach I support the program so I will support him as long as he is here. I also don't want to be a revolving door for coaches to use us as a stepping stone anymore so I'm not sure what the solution is.

I'll be a stepping stone program all day long, if it means the guys we get are motivated to be successful bc they have a future in coaching.

I said the same thing the day he was hired. Hell, when he was interviewed during the Belk Bowl he said this:

Tommy Tuberville just said on @ESPN that he's over that point in his career where he wants to always play in big games an always be on TV.

That was a huge red flag right off the bat. Not to mention he was just 20-17 at Texas Tech and 9-17 in league play (so he feasted off the weak OOC opponents). The guy is not good coach unless he has an elite coaching staff and elite talent. We hired him without a formal interview!! Basically offered him the job over the phone. We will pay for that boneheaded decision for the next decade...

DEFENDING THE COACH

I was devastated and stunned after last night's debacle! Football is a team game, and there are multiple coaches who have numerous responsibilities. To sit around and blame Coach Tuberville is ridiculous. We have an excellent coach, and for fans to call for his head is stupid. I am sick over the loss, but come on. They say defenses win championships, and that was proved last night, as Temple has an excellent defense (better than UC). Just look at the scores throughout the country--Toledo beating Arkansas---Louisville losing to Houston, etc. I hope the Bearcats don't give up the ship as the Bearcat fans are doing are doing right now. I have complete faith in Coach T, as he is building this football program. The true Bearcat fans can feel disappointed, as I do, but you can't quit or give up after 2 games. With that attitude, I wouldn't want you on my team!

Wow, spoken like a true loser.

‏@MericanMania Tommy Tuberville is now 0-3 in his opening conference games at Cincinnati. The first two years they have tied for the AAC title.

We put up 500 yards on their defense. They were good up front, but we only gave up one sack. We ran the ball effectively and their secondary got away with alot of early contact to stop us as much as they did.

You can have complete faith in Tuberville and that's fine. I don't. I'm a true fan in every sense of the word. This is his third year, he plays an easier schedule and has better talent than his predecessors yet wins less. He doesn't project a winning attitude and it reflects on the field in his team. His first two years he blamed not having the right talent. Last night he still says we haven't arrived yet, how long will it take? He took over a team that won at a high level, elevated the talent level and plays an easier schedule. I honestly think the game has passed him by and he no longer has the passion. I think he's still coaching because it's what he's always done, not because he's hungry to win a title. Cronin from day one talked about winning championships and he's not satisfied to just play well. Yeah he had to endure a rebuilding period and was honest with it, but Tuberville uses that excuse when it isn't there. There was no rebuilding. I didn't form my opinion after last night's game. I questioned when he was hired if he had the desire to win. I liked the hire just because he is/was a good coach and he hopefully brought some stability to the head coaching position but I still questioned his desire and wondered if he would elevate the program. After two plus years I see a regression in performance on the field, I see a defensive approach that repeatedly gets exploited and I see enough bad in-game decisions that I don't like and I scratch my head at how someone as seasoned as Tuberville is could make. So as of now my opinion is we need to move on from Tuberville and get a coach with fire that knows the modern college football game.

OKAY, HERE YOU GO

Obviously, you were biased against Coach T before he ever arrived at UC. You also seem to know a lot about him--his personality, decision making, his desire to win, etc. Do you really know him that well? Coaching football is so different then basketball (been there and done that). One guy can almost coach college basketball. It takes multiple people to coach college football. In football you have to delegate a lot of responsibilities and not interfere. Nobody wants to win more then the coach, and that is at every level. I am trying to tell myself that maybe UC has arrived--meaning when people start complaining, calling for the heads of coaches, they really care (kind of like the Buckeye Nation). If you were a Buckeye fan, you would have called for Urban's head after their first game last year. Didn't Butch Jones have a losing season here at UC? You probably wanted him gone, too. UC is darn lucky to have Tommy Tuberville. Don't jump off a cliff!

Not jumping off a cliff, I just don't think Tuberville has what it takes anymore and I hope we make a move when the season is over. At this point in time I have lost my confidence in him getting the job done. This was the year I told myself we needed to stop hearing excuses and see results. My posts on this season's threads support that if you care to go back and look. Last night I saw bad coaching, no aggression and the same ole, same ole. Then I heard the same excuses and lethargic demeanor after the game. What really got me mad was him sitting on the ball at the end of the first half. And I wasn't biased from the start. I was excited when they hired him and went down to the press conference and chanted his name with all the students. I was an Auburn fan growing up so I remember his days at Auburn. I did, when he got hired, question if he still had the desire to win, especially after his comments that he was done with being in the big games, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and all my previous posts support that. We can agree to disagree and that is fine. I fully hope you are right and Tuberville elevates this program. I just don't see it happening and outside of recruiting I don't see anything being improved in his tenure.

And to be clear when I say desire to win I mean the fire and passion to motivate this team to elevate their game and win at a high level. He obviously wants to win, everybody wants to win, but it takes something else to get the most out of your players.

Well, yes, you can. Because in our conference, you don't get a sniff at greatness anymore unless you go undefeated. Otherwise you slip into obscurity. Lose 3 games and you are Anyother University. That is the system we were forced into and what was forced upon us. It is awful, but that's what the power 5 changes did.
