Temple Predictions

Well, yes, you can. Because in our conference, you don't get a sniff at greatness anymore unless you go undefeated. Otherwise you slip into obscurity. Lose 3 games and you are Anyother University. That is the system we were forced into and what was forced upon us. It is awful, but that's what the power 5 changes did.

I don't really mind losing to good teams but we haven't even been close under Tuberville.

Against Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio State, Memphis (10 win G5), Miami (FL) and Virginia Tech....here are the combined scores:

263-127, outscored by an average of 23 points per game.

Thanks again Tuberville!

Listen to Bearcat NTS or a guy who has won 149 games and went undefeated in the SEC when he was at Auburn? Hmmm, tough call.

What does this even mean? Based on your logic, no one should ever comment on things they haven't done before. Keep hanging on to those accomplishments from 13 years ago. Tuberville said himself he is done with playing in big games on TV all the time, and he coaches like it. Sucks that clown is going to run our program into mediocrity and stunt the momentum we've had. He's got to go and sooner rather than later...

The sky falls a lot in our fan base

We needed to set the tone early but made a few mistakes. This team beat itself by player and coaching mistakes so let's see how they respond. There needs to be a heavy dose of discipline...and our coach needs to recognize his mistakes as well. We had more talent but they had more discipline and passion on their sideline.

I don't know why we are throwing fade routes to Shaq in the end zone when you have McKay. That's just not well thought out.

The sky is still up there...relax

Last 3 years, how many times have we been trailing by 3+ TDs in a big game? How many big games have we won?

I am a die hard fan, alumni, and financial contributor to the athletic department. I have been a UC supporter long before Tubbs and will be long after. I know the program is not doomed because we lost Temple.

That said, you can't deny the red flags with Tubberville. His team's aren't prepared, play sloppy, and his attitude is aloof. His comments make it seem like we don't really have high expectations like a P5 program. If he thinks he has a cushy job where he can go 7-5 and 8-4 every year and ride off into retirement then he needs to be let go sooner than later.

I expected to win a conference title this year. I don't think that is unrealistic with our talent and conference competition. Tubberville had better figure out how to win with this team really quick or he deserves every bit of heat that comes his way. IMO he has put himself in that position because of his attitude.

I get it...I just think we ought to wait until mid season or after the season to evaluate performance. Yes I understand we have history to evaluate too. I don't disagree with some of the opinions about TT but being overly pessimistic this early in the season seems a bit alarmist when they could gel...who knows

Where is the silent majority?

Where is the silent majority? Where are the Coach T supporters? Maybe they don't belong or read this website, usually reserved for people who have a complaint. I support the coach. I support Coach Tuberville. Hey, I understand the frustration, but come on!!

This was supposed to be the year. Top WRs, RBs, and QB all back. Re-opening Nippert. Coach in his 3rd season of what was not a rebuild. Lots of talent and now adequate time to install your system. And here we are 2 games in, and we've already lost to an unranked team at home. Same coaching mistakes. Same lack of preparation. Same large deficit, and ultimately the same kind of loss. How are we going to win @Memphis, @BYU, vs Miami, and @Houston? It we can't win more than 8 or so games this year, when everything is lined up for us, then what hope it there for the future? This isn't a "the sky is falling" post. This is genuine concern that we are no longer a program capable of competing at the highest level of the sport. That's tough to take given the amount of success we've become accustomed to.

Yeah I totally understand your point. I hope you don't think I was trying to tear it down either. I agree the season is not lost by any means.

However, this is another year and we are 0-1 in conference play again. The play calling was really really poor. Temple's coach was toying with Tubbs. I sat behind their bench and he walked up to their AD and gestured that he has "huge balls" while laughing just before the onside kick. Afterwards he went up to him laughing and they high fived....hahaha. Tubbs just stared off in amazement. That activity on the Temple bench pretty much went on all night.

I get that this is anecdotal, but I think it speaks to the fact that the way the game is played today has maybe passed him by. Temple had a good game plan for us and smashed us in the face. Tubbs says maybe it is good that we got this loss out of the way...huge red flag.

My prediction of 8-4 included a win over Temple so it may be reasonable to see a 7-5 season...but don't worry guys we're going to be so much faster and more athletic on defense next year. Maybe we can get a new DC for the 7th time in Tuberclown's last 8 years of coaching.

I support winning. I'm still on the Coach Tuberville side but he needs to have a breakthrough this season or next. Last week's game was ugly and a big step backwards for what I thought this program could accomplish this season.

I do find it amusing how many people have higher expectations for our football program than our basketball program. Folks who slam Tuberville but are thrilled with Mick make me laugh. What's the difference between the football team going 8-4 and losing a bowl game or the hoops team making the tourney as a 8 or 9 seed and losing before the sweet 16?

Tuberville is doing a rather mediocre job, just like Mick has. I DO NOT support mediocrity. Win championships or GTFO. Tommy's time is running out.

8-4 regular season in a P5 conference is like a Round of 32 appearance, a good bowl win over another P5 team is probably like a Sweet 16.

8-4 in a G5 conference is like making the NIT, a poor bowl performance is like losing in the first round of the NIT...
