There are some things I like about SK, but he is not what the contributors to this thread make him out to be. For sure, he is not much of a ball handler. I do like the fact that he has a quick release on his shot, and he's usually close if he misses. Unfortunately, he's a volume shooter (surprised he only took 9 shots tonight) as no one else seems to be able to pick up the load. I can't believe we had a whopping 7 assists. If he ever gets in foul trouble, what will we do? Implode? He hustles on the court, rarely standing still on offense or defense. But, we're not a one man show. Just haven't found the other 4 Santa's helpers.Yes, it cost them the game, and I was complaining about his flopping well before that ever occurred. Again, I love SK, but I hate his flopping. Unfortunately with this offense and when things aren't going well, the only option is to hope for a foul. This offense is just toooo bad. It's ridiculous how bad it is.
Shaquille played 35 minutes! Sure seemed like he was on the bench more. He was 5-8 from the field with 1 block 1 steal but only 1 rebound. Also, need to see a lot more of Johnson, Caupain and Lawrence and a lot less of Guyn and Sanders. Would like to see Shaq not get pulled for every mistake early. Impossible to get into a rhythm offensively when you fear coming out at every dead ball...

Didn't realize it. Also didn't watch a chance to watch most of the game after the first few minutes. He definitely needs to get better at rebounding.

Dear NCAA,
This Christmas I only ask for one gift. As much I would love to bash you for all of the insanely moronic decisions and rules you have, I want to ask that you clear Jamaree Strickland. JJ is a nice energy guy, but he is just inferior down low for long periods of time against quality opponents. Rubles is a decent player, but he has no jumper, so no one falls for his pump fake anymore. We need a bruiser who isn't soft like big Dave. I don't care if Strickland doesn't score that much, I just want a player that resembles a post player. Please, make it happen.
Happy Holidays,

Not going to happen sad to say
Yeah, I agree, but you can always dream and hope.

He really wouldn't do anything anyway because he ain't practiced in 3 months.
We know what we'll get with Mick Cronin: a good defensive team that will have to scrape and crawl to get to 60 points against good teams. He will consistently get UC to the tournament as a 6-10 seed but probably nothing better. It is REALLY hard to beat good teams when you cannot score. Mick, from what he says to the media, knows this and is trying to improve it but I doubt he ever will. I am not a "get rid of Mick guy" not necessarily because I think he is great but because there is NO way UC could get anyone better.
Before the season I said UC should split the NC State, UNM, Xavier and Pitt games. UC will have to man up on Tuesday to beat Pittsburgh and reach that goal.
Rubles wasn't there tonight on either side of the ball. He does not have the jump shot, and displayed that he's unable to drive inside and get a shot off without having it blocked. Both he and JJ were simply outmatched inside or at the 4. Maybe we need to go to a zone occasionally, but the way X popped 3's, that would have failed, too. That's another subject. A very frustrating night.I wish he was eligible too, but I'm not sure he'd make much difference right now. I do like his upside, you just don't see many ready-made bigs anymore. Outside of Randle, Kentucky has a roster full of 5-star bigs that are offensive liabilities in the post.
Instead of wishing for Strickland I'd rather see Rubles actually play up to his size. He's been extremely soft the last two games and it's killing this team. He seems content with shooting jumpers and playing on the perimeter.
