the scheme blows. Walk down the court, throw it into the high post, let SK dance around and run off picks and if that doesn't create a shot, start over or go to 1 on 1. No motion, no ball movement, no entry passes into the low post, it's the same crap it's been since Cronin started.

What about the run and gun? UC's half court offense sucks and they still don't push the ball. Even when they do it's obvious they aren't well taught on how to execute in the open court.

That said, the junior class is killing them. Other than Shaq, no others are legitimate high D1 players. I've never seen someone miss so badly on wide open looks as Sanders, and Guyn belongs in D2 or low D1.
now which is it the talent or the scheme. If the scheme is so bad how are the sub standard players getting wide open looks.

As far as I can tell, Cincinnati doesn't have an offensive scheme aside from... Bring the ball up, pass to the wing, set a ball screen, then nothing. Very little movement without the ball and some of our guys are very indecisive with the ball in their hands. When Rubles and Jackson face guys up, it needs to be a quick, confident move to the basket or pass the ball out. They can't hold on to the ball for 5 seconds, then try to shoot over or take their man off the dribble. It's never going to work.

could care less where we finished offensively. It's wins and losses that count. I brought up KY because when you have young players your going to have inconsistencies. This is a rebuilding year. If he makes the tourney with this group he will have done a outstanding job. It will also mean the freshman have really stepped up.

make the tourney? x isnt even gonn make it and look this game

We have some explosive athletes on this team... where are the backdoor cuts? Jackson and Lawrence should be getting 2-3 backdoor lob dunks a game.

Caupain needs to play 25-30 minutes per game. It's time. There is literally nothing Guyn does that warrants him getting anywhere near the same playing time as Caupain. Shaq has been stepping up in this game... just like last year when he played well in big games. He's got that streak in him... he has to become more assertive like this in all games.

Really?! You wanna justify Sk. He falls short when we need him. End off story. Also, I am done justifying Cronin. Offensively he is done.

it's both. Xavier's talent isn't any better but they run an offense. New Mexico's talent isn't any better.

Xavier's offense has been flat out bad this year. It's amazing how much better it looks when you start hitting outside shots at a ridiculous clip.

Rebuilding year? How so? What is next year going to be like when we lose the 2nd leading scorer in school history, along with our next two best starters in Jackson and Rubles?

We start 3 seniors. We have a 3rd year point guard. We have two other 3rd year players players seeing significant minutes in Thomas and Sanders. One of our freshman seeing minutes is a 5 star recruit.

And if it's a rebuilding year doesn't that normally mean coming off a big year for quality programs? We got bounced in the 2nd round last year, something the previous coach gets knocked for still to this day.

It's not a rebuilding year. It's year 8 in a weaker conference. There is no reason this program shouldn't expect to make the tourney.

i would also throw out there, rebuilding from what?

I don't consider this a rebuilding year. If this is a rebuilding year, then I guess every year is a rebuilding year. We lost 2 good guards and a big... we reloaded with 2 good guards and a big.

And the offensive statistics absolutely do matter. When our offensive stats are garbage year after year after year, that's a serious problem.

In this game, every time we make a run, Xavier hits a 3. They are on fire. Cincinnati has one more run left in them, I think... if they can't get it close on that run, this game is over. We only have so much energy to expend in an already emotionally-charged game.

Thank goodness he is leaving Guyn on the bench most of this half. The free throw shooting in this game is pitiful though. Concentrate, concentrate, concentrate.

The worst performance of any bearcat team I have watched in a crosstown ever...truly embarrassing
