Some people actually have this information gathering tracking as their JOB. And as members of the press can actually call and speak directly to players as part of the normal interview media process.

They also have the job of interviewing, speaking with and building relationships with head coaches and assistant coaches.

Any collection of people on a website can then pass this on and apparently some even feel entitled to pretend they have a source other than just "some guy" they know.

Just don't delude yourself - 90% of the not-public knowledge, not twitter stuff you read on here came from a pay site. Yes occassionally we all hear a nugget from a high roller donor or whatnot. Trust me I get that info too - most of the time I read something on here I can tell you with near certainty where the info came from.

There are two disgusting parts to this equation:
On one hand you have the most connected, best information source in the city CHAD - who is having conversations with legitimate stakeholders in the process not to mention actual PLAYERS. Chad can't even give all the information he would like to to PAYING CUSTOMERS because certain people steal it and rephrase it CONSTANTLY (always with a little extra BS pepper added to make it sound like new and even MORE info!).

The second part is that you complete jackballs who want to come across as recruiting gurus and insiders so they ACT LIKE they didn't steal anything. Trust me they ARE, nearly every time. Some guy is doing this full time, legit media reporting and publishing to making a living. And he has to read some complete douchebag report it back (with a little "extra" added!) as if it his.

It is disgusting - it is wayy beyond pathetic.

And you know what? I don't care! None of us know 100% anything about anyone on here. If you or others think what someone says isn't legit dont put faith in it. Its a forum board for the public. People can say what they want in the context of the rules. I don't know anyone on here personally and have no ideal where they get info from. Simply doesn't matter to me.

I am very sensitive to the concept of intellectual property but seriously is it this important to find out something about sports two days earlier than someone else?

Jeff you and the rest of the folks running this site do not have to tip toe around or apologize for providing a free site for bearcat fans to discuss all things Bearcat. If Chad or anyone else providing a pay service has issue with the content on this site that is their problem. For them providing information is a business venture. You,me or anyone else posting on here are not responsible for making sure they have a market or the information on their site is kept confidential. Discussing potential recruits is a huge topic of interest. So much so they feel it is a potential source of income. If I stumble on any info that I feel may be of interest to others who visit this site you can believe I won't be apologizing for making it public. I would suggest Chad and his associates consider the leaking of info from their pay site as a cost of doing business. Coming on here and discouraging that disclosure is weak and foolish on their part.
