I thought you said you were leaving be gone.....

When you are an EPIC member of BearcatTalk there are just some responsibilities you can't turn your back on. One of those is to laugh at you when you undoubtedly will make a ridiculously inaccurate statement.

Oh also think Jenifer needs more run. Completely changes the pace of the game and our shooters feed off of it. Made a ridiculous pass after a made shot to Brooks for a dunk. Easy two points that only JJ could create.

To many epic members nothin special

Here it is again, the postgame garbage posting we are so used to. More and more people gonna be driven to the reddit sub where we can downvote crap like this and bury it at the bottom if it keeps up.

I said If Tulane would have made their open dunks and shots it would have been around 20 but instead they play like a D2 school

I hate statements like this. This takes all credit away from UC's 2 point defense. It's as if UC became the 3rd best 2pt % defense in the country by accident and luck.

That's not the case. If you play UC and you miss a lot of easy shots, it's because of UC's defense. Even the fear of a block is enough to force a miss.

UC holds opponents to 38% from 2. Tulane shot 34% from 2. They average 43% from 2.

Stats would tell the story that UC forced Tulane to miss east shots.

Tulane missed 4 dunks that were in the rim and came back out and at the end of the game had 10 wide-open three-pointers they missed

Missed the game and since it wasn't on ESPN I guess I won't be able to find a replay. Someone want to give me a summary?

Cumberland was in the game early, and was in double figures in no time. Hit a few 3s, drew probably 4 fouls, and got us in the bonus. We were up 24-8 then hit a lull and they made it 34-27 but we scored 5 right before half on a great pass by Cumberland for a Washington dunk and I think a Johnson 3. We really came out rolling 2nd half. Cumberland started it over Evans and continued to play well but when Evans got back in he started nailing 3s. Johnson played well overall. So did the bench. Moore has a hurt back so he was out, but the other guys all gave really great minUtes. Each had several big plays. I love Brooks. He fouls a lot but he's always around the play and showed good touch in the post again. Really well played game by us for the most part.

I would love if the Bearcats subreddit become as active as this.

Thanks Jacob. Glad to see Cumberland playing well.

Through two conference games Cincinnati is #1 in 3PT% and #1 in 3PT% defense in the AAC. That would be an amazing trend to keep up! Given how poorly Caupain and Johnson shot in the preseason, there should be some improvement to get to their career numbers.

Cumberland shooting 60 percent from deep last 5 games. kJ is 47 percent in last 4. Those two are definitely trending up.

So we shot 57% overall, 54% from deep, and 77% from the FT line.....and our KenPom adj. O dropped two spots to 57.....lol. I understand it's just against Tulane, but that's wacky. Defense up to #4.

I'm getting tired of our team not getting credit for the opposing team missing open shots. Great defenses will lead to teams missing open shots. When teams are working hard every 30 seconds the hardest thing to do is hit an open shot. They are rushed, tired, added pressure, fear of shot blocker etc.......these things lead to bad shooting. I don't care how open they are when they shoot the basketball.

KJ also shooting over 60 percent from 2 and is 88 percent from line in those 4 games. Suddenly our SG position is looking much better. Now on to our PG...Get him going and we are in very good shape.

We have a solid bench.

Agreed. Many were worried that KJ would hold this team back. Early on it looked that way. However, he's played well the past 6-7 games. Troy is playing ok, but certainly not shooting it very well. His shot looks ok, so I assume he'll shoot at a better clip as we move along.

The biggest reasons for optimism are Tre and Jarron. They are both developing nicely and making significant contributions. Justin continues to give good minutes, but I don't see him getting much more than 12 minutes or so a game as we move into conference play.

Getting Kyle's game to a point that he can stay on the floor for 25+ minutes per night is key. The offense is a given if he can stay on the floor. I thought he played better last night - he seemed more conscious of looking to create for his teammates rather than forcing everything at the offensive end of the floor.

Go Cats!

KJ impresses me in post game pressers. I could see him becoming a coach. He thinks like one and he doesn't mince words. He's all about the team and you can tell he just has learned a lot over the years.

He speaks to the press like he's done it 100 times. Hes very cerebral about game plans when other players are trying to think of the right thing to say. It seems to be in Kevin's DNA...He really believes it and understands it very well.
