KJ also shooting over 60 percent from 2 and is 88 percent from line in those 4 games. Suddenly our SG position is looking much better. Now on to our PG...Get him going and we are in very good shape.

We have a solid bench.
TC had a nice game against Tulane. I ,think he only had 1 TO. The thing that really sticks out for me is our ball movement. We make the extra pass lastnight on many occasions. That pass led to open looks. The team's half court offense is not grinding down to the end of the shot clock.

TC has to facilitate the offense among 4 guys that can score this year. Looks as if his shot was a bit better last night. I really think he is putting to much pressure on himself. Hopefully he'll relax a bit and hit his norm.

I'm getting tired of our team not getting credit for the opposing team missing open shots. Great defenses will lead to teams missing open shots. When teams are working hard every 30 seconds the hardest thing to do is hit an open shot. They are rushed, tired, added pressure, fear of shot blocker etc.......these things lead to bad shooting. I don't care how open they are when they shoot the basketball.
Our defense absolutely has a cumulative effect on a team. You saw in the 1st half they made a few shots and then we clamped down and then they look defeated at the beginning of the 2nd half. I was at the Temple game and they could not get a good shot off at all They were frustrated. Unfortunately, we couldn't hit a shot either that game. I think that's why they looked like crap the next game 2 days later. They were tired.

KJ impresses me in post game pressers. I could see him becoming a coach. He thinks like one and he doesn't mince words. He's all about the team and you can tell he just has learned a lot over the years.

He speaks to the press like he's done it 100 times. Hes very cerebral about game plans when other players are trying to think of the right thing to say. It seems to be in Kevin's DNA...He really believes it and understands it very well.

It's quite apparent thinking back. KJ is always talking about situations and knowing where to be or how to get a stop. Some players will be talking about how a particular shot got them going. Kevin will talk about a nice trap and steal or shutting a guy down on D. He talks about deflections and game plans for specific players.

He pulled a stat about Scott grabbing 10 boards and said that was huge. He might say it's nice to see one of his teammates get it going offensively...But he knows that stat will be inconsistent so he talks about the things they can control and our game plan is built around.

Yeah he's probably my favorite person to listen to in interviews/pressers. Very smart guy.

Most of our guys seem to be playing at a good level or improving.

Washington scored 13 plus his first 8 games but hasn't done it since. However, he has learned the value of rebounding and most recently assists. Cronin is doing a good job of not letting scoring be the sole focus.

Troy hasn't been shooting well all year. His FTs aren't falling and in general has struggled shooting. His last 4 games he seems to have focused on other things he can do. 6-1 assists to turnovers, 7 rebounds, almost 2 steals. 40 percent in 3s from being more selective.

Cronin is doing a good job right now of getting everyone to understand how team play is going to do us good in the long run. Some valuable lessons have been learned.

Has Caupain had a 2 for 2 trip to the line all year?

I really hope we use the bench for the hot hand on offense and also defensive situations. It helps our bench confidence and keeps our starters hungry.

Everyone can get good minutes in a game while playing team ball. No selfishness out there. Team ball is our ticket. We are a top 15 (maybe top 10) team when everyone is focused and unselfish.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what is going on with Troy. From AAC preseason POY to maybe honorable mention is inexplicable.

Shooting has been atrocious on the whole. Perhaps he preferred being the #1 option and is still adjusting. He can still have a major impact if he embraces the role.

At the last 6 minutes or so, Jenifer was in the game and the Tulane PG was bigger and harassing Jenifer, and even poked the ball loose and the defender slapped the floor as if to challenge Jenifer.

How Jenifer responded was awesome. He proceeded to shake and bake his defender and took him to hole for an easy 2.

Not sure how that was caught on tv but I loved it. Jenifer has moved to go to the basket against any defender. Guessing we see a lot more in jr and SR year.

Also. If Caupain had the line he had last night the rest of the season, I'd be happy.

8 assists
1 TO
2 Steals
5 rebounds
9 points
50% from 3 and the field.

You could also tell he looked relieved when those 3's went in.

Before the team goes to the tunnel before every game, Evans and Troy shoot 3's at the top of the key until they make their last shot before joining the team. Evans made his right away. Caupain had to shoot about 4 or 5 until he made one. You could tell it was getting to him.

Caupain just isn't a good shooter. I honestly wonder if it's all the bench pressing.

It very well could be. Go back and watch hold big Troy was in his sophomore year. He was no where near a strong as he is now. His arms looked much thinner. Now he is really strong but it might have broken his shot

Late to the party but Jenifer and Cumberland have come a long way since the beginning of the season. Very impressed. Second half was a clinic. Excellent ball movement and passing but more importantly they were consistently making the right pass. Tough to move up when your beating the teams you should but they're doing it in impressive style. Great to see

I know when I stopped playing for a couple years and during the same stretch bulked up a lot, when I went back my shot was all off. Hitting the back board all the time, for a while. The stronger you get the easier it is to throw that ball farther. You gotta really practice at it and pull that shot in. I fixed mine, I'm not D-1 college player, Troy should be able to fix his too.

I remember in HS moving from football to basketball took a month or so of practice to get my shot back. He should have it by now.

I agree, it can totally screw your shot up, but if you're as good as a player as he is, you should be able to get it back.
