Worried this may be a trap game with Syracuse looming at home on Monday but I think we are above that at this point. Our confidence is high, I think we pull off a closer than the score indicates win at WVU on Saturday.

This game scares the crap out of me. We just got a huge road victory over the #11 team in the country. We have number 1 at home on Monday. You know all the kids on campus are going to be talking about Cuse game.

Mick has to find a way to keep the guys focused on a very good WVU team. But they are definitely beatable.

I think there is no way this team will look past WVU on the road. That said WVU is playing very well right now so this could be a loss anyway and they know that. Also, I believe there is a bit of a rivalry here. I think both teams want to win for their coach.

UC has to play good D on Jones and Bryant and rebound. You know Huggs teams will play their ass off so get your will in check. Going to be another good one.

When this 3 game stretch started I thought to myself they'd go 2-1 and for some reason I thought the loss would be at WVU or at home against a vastly talented and deep Sryacuse team that reminds me of the Kentucky team that was so deep under Pitino.

This game scares me. Huggins loves to control the tempo and keep the game low scoring. If we aren't running on offense things still get pretty stagnant. The longer we hold the ball on offense and the deeper we get into the shot clock the worse our offense looks.

This is the game where we really need to be focused on defense and rebounding. It won't be pretty I don't think, but we've shown an ability to do some good things at the end of games to get a W.

Close game, ugly game, we get the W

this group has never been able to handle success and will be looking forward to monday. if we win i think it is by 3 points or less.

This team has the character and the heart to keep this train rolling. They will not look past a game against Huggins.

Could lose, but imo, they shouldn't.
I think if we show up, we'll take this one and I can only hope, we still have enough energy, from this road trip; to finish strong at home against Syracuse. After that, several days before they go to the RAC, to play Rutgers.

We got one @UConn, if they can get by the next two, Rutgers and Depaul follow, where we will be favored.
You're potentially looking at 9-1 with 8 games remaining...
Beating Syracuse will take an amazing effort....Even if we drop that one, 8-2 with the remainder of our schedule, I think you're looking at the best finish we've had in the Big East.

There will be a lot of questionable foul calls on Cincinnati. Every time WVU fouls the crowd will boo as if they've never seen a foul in their lives. It will be tough, but it should be a close game. Hoping the shots keep falling, and UC can shut down Truck Bryant and keep Kevin Jones off the offensive glass (nearly impossible, but at least limit it). I'm going with a low scoring defensive effort:
WVU 57
UC 53

Let Bryant shoot his 20 shots to get his 15 points and let Jones have at it from outside the 3 and UC should be good as long as they come ready to play.

Anyone know why Kilicli didn't play against Marshall?

He has been dealing with a hip pointer/leg injury from what I've heard. Has been in and out of the line up since the Baylor game

hopefully he is out for Saturday. I don't want to see him throw in any of that stupid hook shot crap that he pulled last year.

If they play Noreen and Jones together you put Gates on Noreen and allow him to guard the basket like a zone. However on the other end they may go small with Jones at the 5 and Rutelige(sp?) or Miles at the 4, in that case they'll have Jones on Gates and he'll probably guard him on the other end.

I say we go at Jones on the offensive end. If they put him on Gates, go to Yancy early and often, try and tire Jones down and get him in foul trouble. If he is on Justin same thing. I'm not so sure thought at Parker doesn't get the assignment of Jones, yes he would be outdone in the size department, but he can guard him on the perimeter and to the baseline with help when he goes down low. The great thing is we have options, let's be honest, fouls could become a factor here when we are talking about Justin.

I just dont see how Jones or Gates can gaurd each other. Seems like they would both eat each other up.

I would expect a lot of zone. Always a safe bet vs Huggs. I am not saying forget the man I would press and then set back in zone after pretty much all made baskets.

Gates has rarely ever exploited mismatches on offense so if Jones is guarding him I still wouldn't try to hard to run it through Gates. Keep him doing the same thing he has been doing which is getting offensive boards and rolling to the basket when teams put too much pressure on the perimeter.

JJ will most likely rack up fouls rather quickly against jones. Unless he plays out of his mind. JJ really has to learn to play D without fouling everything else about him I like.
