You make me wanna vomit!

Mick will be the UC coach for many, many, years to come. If you cannot deal with that you really should find a new team to be a fan of. There are only 2 choices, either support Mick or find a new team. UC letting Mick go and hiring a new coach is not going to happen.

Third choice-- Get a new coach.

When Mick goes, will you follow?

Let's not turn this site into BCN with constant bickering. Ralph supports UC and its coach unconditionally. He may be on the far end of the spectrum, but I would rather have more fans like him than those who resort to making fun of someone's stature. If you want Ralph to leave if MC leaves, how about not returning to this site until MC is gone?

HAHA

Must be, no other excuse to have a man-crush on a 4foot ginger!

Do you even understand this is insulting to everyone, regardless of whether or not they fit that description?

I can pretty much guarantee what type of person you are by comments such as these.......

Yo Fellas:

Ralph is a member, and an early one at that, so even though you may feel he's terribly misguided, let's try to be (at worst) civil. He's taken his fair amount of punishment pretty well.

I don't really have a problem with jabs at fellow posters. It disgusts me to see so called fans of our basketball program attack our head coach personally.

Good lord you guys are exhausting! Pretty easy to see why BCN ended up the way it has. As we're seeing, it only takes a couple bad apples to ruin all intelligent discourse on a message board.

Degrading a coach or player with insulting nicknames does not make you witty or add to your credibility, it takes away from it. When a member loses credibility, other members stop paying attention to them. It is in your best interest to maintain some modicum of credibility if you want to actually have a discussion with other members of this board. A member that has lost his/her credibility yet keeps posting is talking to him/herself.

Bringing up the same point -- and I use the word "point" very loosely here -- over and over in every thread regardless of its relevance to the discussion at hand (e.g. mentioning Mick's height or coaching ability in a thread devoted to Yancy Gates) until people stop refuting you is not a sign that you won the argument. It's a sign that nobody cares what you say anymore.

For examples of this behavior see this thread...or any thread on BCN.

It's only a matter of time until all the negative nelly's discover you and drag you into the ground with us, trust me.

I'm not too worried about the negativity right now, as I look at the UC offense and shake my head many times. It's downright awful for a BE team to look this way. Mick needs to work some serious magic in the offseason, or I'll start being negative.

I'm giving the members some latitude, as we all pretty much know each other. The newer members won't have the same luxury in the future.

Oh please...

We are all grown ups. Ralph can dish it out, I'm sure he can take it as well. Let's not turn this into a personality test! :D

As for the "Mick haters", or whatever you want to call us.

Just because we do not like the coach or agree with what he has done, does not even come close to meaning that we are not fans. If anything we are die hard fans and are sick of seeing the product on the court. For Ralph to say, "If you don't support Mick, take a hike," is completely showing his biasy. Fine, dish it, but be willing to take it.

Bearcatalum if that offended you, or anyone else, I apologize. Take it as sarcasm and move on.

I know Lumberjack is a huge UC fan. Hell, he used to have primo season tickets for some time, before UC got 'greedy'. I know he's disheartened by what he sees on the court, and has simply lost faith in MC. Criticism does not mean you're not a fan. However, I do think criticism can be done tactfully.

Good natured jokes are funny. Most of us can joke with each other and no one takes it too serious. However, it's different when you starting tearing down individuals that are trying to make us all happy. These individuals represent OUR school. As a graduate of UC, I am offended when ANYONE takes personal jabs and attacks at student athletes because of their appearance. This includes race, height, general appearance, socioeconomic status, intelligence, etc. I extend this thinking to the coaching staff, especially when these coaches have been model citizens.

You may mean it as a joke, but these boards are in the public forums.

If you do not like the coach, fine. Attack Mick's decision-making, substitution pattern, offense, or anything substantive to the game of basketball. Don't take personal attacks because of his looks.

I find it childish and immature. It takes away from your argument and makes me respect you less.

You mean all those short jokes and jabs about Mick having a "Napoleon Complex" aren't intelligent and intuitive? I'd have never guessed.

In all seriousness, I agree. I welcome two-way discussion on the state of the program and what needs to be done to advance it, unfortunately it seems increasingly more difficult for people of opposing views on the matter to debate the topic without things getting personal.

Thanfully I'm tall, so the only Napolean complex I would suffer from would be my brilliant strategy and sartorial splendor. (aside from the whole Russia/waterloo thing)
