But he gives you 10 every game only one that can say that and he gets constant crap from this board. Leading scorer, leader in assist, averages over 3 rebounds a game. Second leading ft shooter in the conference, or was a couple games ago. Shoots over 46% and 41 % from the 3. Troy Caupain is not the problem with this team. The wing positions are the problem with this team and I have said that since the beginning of the season.

Everyone knows the wing position sucks. There is literally nothing you can do about it because Shaq and Sanders were huge busts. But Cauapin actually has potential and can be a good player. When he is UC is pretty darn good, when he isn't and when he is passive, UC struggles. I don't think he gets constant crap on this board but people have high standards for him and he hasn't lived up to them yet. Xavier's guards flat out played better than Troy tonight.

Plus, my gripe with Caupain is the slow walk up the floor. And based on everything else I see from the coaching staff, I'm thinking that probably isn't on him.

Like I said the only thing he did wrong was not shoot enough
jeff TC didn't need to shoot more. I think we out scored them 42-16 in the paint. We were scoring at will. What we needed to do was throw in to the bigs more. They had no answer for Clark or Ellis. From where I was siting we could have gone to the bigs at least 10 more times easy and the guards didn't deliver the ball. TC played a very good game. This game was about opposites. Their offense vs. our defense. Their outside game and our inside game. They made the plays at the end and we did not. The teams were pretty equally matched. On to Houston.

This is just not the city to be the most talented player on the roster. No matter what you do, people still want more for w/e reason. He should be this, he should be that. People refuse to accept players for what they are.

Yancy had a great career here but a lot of people completely missed it hoping he would be Danny Fortson.

The LongHaul I don't think X's guards outplayed him. They hit some wide open 3's but TC played a excellent floor game. Cats had 6 TO tonight. That is great. Our defense let us down in the first half and that was the difference in the game.

Xavier guards did very little after the switch to man to man and Dee Davis as Chris Mack said after the game, had the game of his life.

Because teams know what you said about the wings is true they take Troy away. If he forces it and turns it over people kill him for that. How about we talk about the real problem with this team? I agree he needs to be more aggressive but the Blame people try to lay at his feet is flat out ridiculous.

Well this was pretty predictable...

Cobb +10
Morman +7
Shaq +5
Ellis +2
DeBerry -2
Clark -6
Caupain -7
Sanders -10
Johnson -12

Basically Clark and Caupain played the most minutes with KJ and Sanders...

By the way longhaul I agree TC CAN BE A VERY GOOD PLAYER

If we are still seeing an overall passive game by the time he's a SR then I think he could take some criticism for it.

But I think by the time he's a SR he's going to be an absolute monster.

I'd say our coach let us down 1st half more than the defense itself. I hear you though...I'm just dumbfounded by LD's ineptitude.

He didn't turn ball over because he never had ball in hands for real

I never blamed him for the game. Not sure anyone did. He needs to play better though. X didn't do anything to take him out of the game. UC ran a pick and roll and Caupain just passed it to the other guard at the top 99% of the time.

So what is the real problem with this team? Because I think they have many. Of course I said this much early in the year and got blasted for it while everyone else just said the team is young and wait until January. Well it's mid February now and they still aren't very good.

Jeff, TC is a very good player. I really believe next year will be his year. I hope Jenifer allows him to move to the 2 which I think his skill set is much better suited for. He has done a good job in his 2 years running the point but it is not his best position.

There is middle ground on Troy. Bulldog's description of him is so far off base that I dont even know what he is talking about much like everything else he says. However Troy does have to realize how good he is. He has to realize he is the engine that makes this team go. He simply has to shoot more shots. He is our best three point shooter, he is our best driver, and he is our best creator for other people. He right now is too caught up in being "The point guard" where he feels obligated to get everyone involved. He needs to learn, as the best player, to take over a game. He just is too passive right now. But let's not forget that he has shown a hell of a lot through his two years. Think he will be a thousand point scorer and an all league player before it's all said and done.

I mean I think Mick would have changed defenses much earlier, but we have to remember LD is not a HC for a reason. He's just going to struggle with things. We have to accept that and move on.

They guards were open all night. They talked to each other on court. He probably does score thousand on team of bums that nobody average 10. I'm spot on about Caupain. He isn't a PG and he knows it himself. He should play wings and attack like his first shot of game

I can't accept something that fans on a message board can see coming 3 days in advance...

The ball was in the post players hands who out scored the the X players in the paint 42-16. Cats had 6 TO's. Troy had a very good game.

You must have low standards. Perhaps that why you are so content on the way they've been playing.

So they rebounded and didn't have turnovers. Yet they still lost. Hmmm..
