They guards were open all night. They talked to each other on court. He probably does score thousand on team of bums that nobody average 10. I'm spot on about Caupain. He isn't a PG and he knows it himself. He should play wings and attack like his first shot of game

Caupain, like Ellis, is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for this team.

There is middle ground on Troy. Bulldog's description of him is so far off base that I dont even know what he is talking about much like everything else he says. However Troy does have to realize how good he is. He has to realize he is the engine that makes this team go. He simply has to shoot more shots. He is our best three point shooter, he is our best driver, and he is our best creator for other people. He right now is too caught up in being "The point guard" where he feels obligated to get everyone involved. He needs to learn, as the best player, to take over a game. He just is too passive right now. But let's not forget that he has shown a hell of a lot through his two years. Think he will be a thousand point scorer and an all league player before it's all said and done.
Jack I think if he is able to move to the 2 next year and be a dion type of secondary ball handler to the PG will allow him to be that player. He has better skills then Dixon.

EXCELLENT post full of reason. If this team had scorers his approach would be fine. They don't. He has to play more aggressively.

Longhaul I agree with your last post as well. The 2-3 has to be fixed. Hopefully Evans can help.

You never can pin point moment in game where Caupain effort matched his teammates. If that was case he would've scored 20. Everybody had it easy with X d. Why he only shoot 5x? He was quiet like mouse until getting fouled on rebound.

We were very good in the 2nd half. Caupain happened to only take 1 shot bc we found success another way.

HE DELIVERED THE BALL TO THE BIGS WHO KILLED THE X BIGS

you saw 3 guys that combine to shoot 27% from 3 going 7-9? If they brick those like usual, did Davis coach a better game?

His unwillingness to adjust is where he coached a bad game. At what point when you're getting buried by the threes do you change? Shouldn't be after eight are made in a half. We saw the same thing against VCU and in the way he refuses to call time outs.

I saw a good offense easily solve a zone and knock down open shots.

The 2 corner ones to Myles Davis were bad. No doubt about that. They'll let Dee Davis, Farr and Macura have open shots all day. Most of the time it will work out. They just happened to be hot tonight.

(I mean freaking Dee shot 18% in conference play. 18!!! Sanders, and Johnson get left open from 3 all the time too. They don't ever go 5-5 though.)

Those are big IFs. When you let good D1 players get wide open looks they generally make them. Once they get in rythm it's even harder to stop. Xavier got wide open looks.

By the way, Miles Davis shoots 40% from 3. He is a very good outside shooter. Dee Davis shoots the same % as Jermaine Sanders. I know some of you would love to get him wide open looks.

Davis flat out did not coach a good game.

I completely agree with all of this. When they showed they could hit the shots, then you switch. But lets not act like we saw those guys drilling all those 3 days in advance. That is silly. We might have feared it because xavier always seems to get hot on us, but do you think other teams fear Johnson, Sanders and Morman getting hot from 3 on us?
