TGO everything I post comes from a source or personal opinion. My from my source he says he gets that impression from Mick and that he is REALLY trying to convince Obekpa that there is more playing time available here then at UCONN or UK. Cronin doesnt seem worried about the other schools in the race though he thinks ST.John's may gain some steam.

Reading between the lines from Mick's comments last night, I think he signs Obepka tomorrow if he wants to commit but will wait on some others to see how things play out before accepting any commitments from anyone else. No inside info. Just my thoughts.

EXACTLY!! I think Mick would love to have Obekpa and Rubles but will be open to Obekpa and someone else depending on how things play out with Rubles. Personally I love Rubles game and athleticism and would look good on the front line with Obekpa.

is rubles their choice over taylor? rubles doesn't have very impressive stats considering how poor of quality juco is these days relative to 10-20 years ago.

True however I think Rubles' raw talent and athleticism is very good and a good summer of training and workouts and he could be a monster.

Or Mick isn't convince Taylor is worth using a scholarship for 4 years when the JUCO only uses it for 2?

The kids could verbal any day they want but the late signing period isn't until April 11 to May 16, 2012.

Is Obekpa more than just a shot blocker?

It's not that there is much doubt about whether or not Christopher Obekpa belongs on the list of the nation's premier shot blockers. We are just curious to get another couple of looks at the athletic 6-foot-8 insider from Centerreach (N.Y.) Our Savior New American. In addition to getting another look at his shot blocking and rebounding prowess, we'll be looking to evaluate his offense more closely. While he didn't finish particularly well last weekend at the Hoophall Classic, he showed some touch and form on his jumper, along with quick spin moves to suggest that he's not quite as offensively limited as some have made him out to be.
