Help Support BearcatTalk:

Maryland just got a commit from center Trayvon Reed. Will be interesting to see how this affects Onuaku.

EDIT: Jeff Ermann ‏@insidemdsports

UPDATE on Trayvon Reed: he has not committed to Maryland, per a source close to him. Was close to doing so, but it is NOT a done deal.

If UC signs Moore, Onuaku would be the third I'd most like to see added. Strickland and the juco give you two legit big bodies in the post. Moore will be versatile and with more work could (though I don't see it now) be a combo forward along with Lawrence who may be gone after 2 years. It'd be nice to add a 5th big.

If Reed commits on his upcoming visit I definitely think the bearcats will get a visit from Onuaku. The question is would the bearcats take both Moore and Onuaku? Dont know if I see those two playing together.

I think they'd take both. Everybody can't be a guard and it appears Moore may be a combo forward at some point. He would be the rugged 3/4 Mick loves. You know I'd like to have him. Mick is building a team where all the players are essentially interchangeable but I think he'd like to have true fives and pg's.

Kind of helpful if you want to press.

Louisville coming on strong. If it's not Maryland the Cards are a good bet after they failed to make the cut for Goodluck Okonoboh.

They are coming on strong, but they are also the favorite for Jaylen Johnson. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Jason I'd love to see it. I've been waiting on that balls to the wall type of playing.

I think we all have. He did it two years ago when he would go to the bench and bring in Davis and Wilks and Jackson and they were fun to watch. Last year they just didn't press for whatever reason. He seems to be building up to that type of team, but until we actually see it we'll just keep holding our breath.

jeff do we have a good shot with him

Not Jeff but he has 3 visits scheduled at this time. They are UC, Louisville, and Miami. He visits Louisville on August 31st. If he doesn't commit during or shortly after his visit, you'd think we'd have a decent chance. Tough to depict our chances until that visit happens, and we see if Onuaku actually makes it to our campus for a visit.

Agreed.

Can someone explain how this kid got a 2* rating on ESPN, a 3 * rating on Rivals, and a 4* rating on 247 and scout?
