Cincinnati-Bound Quadri Moore Could Be New Jersey’s Most Complete Player

“Quadri is an extremely tough matchup,” Roselle Catholic coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv. “He scores in the post with his back to the basket. He can face at 15 feet and shoot or drive and he can shoot it to 23 feet. He’s playing like the state Player of the Year right now.”

“Quadri’s best part of his game, I keep telling everybody, he’s a great passer,” Colicchio said. “People haven’t seen that part of his game yet, but they’ll see it when he gets to college. So you know, I’ll leave that up to you guys who’s the best player, but I’m a little prejudiced. I’ve coached the kid for four years so naturally I think he’s the most complete player.”

Thanks, good read. Quadri is definitely our most skilled big man recruit since Yancy. If he can come in and have our coaches improve his defense and motor, look out. Skill isn't an issue with Quadri, he can play.

I liked this quote:
"While Moore’s outside shooting touch was absent during Monday’s game, he still shot 6-of-8 inside the arc, with several of the makes coming on impressive fadeaway jumpers that were often contested. Moore’s inside-out potential could provide match-up nightmares for years to come."

Hard to game plan against a guy that can do that. As JL matures and with the addition of Clark, DeBerry, and Strickland the frontline could Mick's best group since he's been here.

Quadri Moore scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Linden, No. 4 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, to a 52-33 victory over Plainfield in Plainfield.

Looking like it will be coming down to Quadri and Kentucky bound 7 footer Karl Towns for the New Jersey Player of the Year.....

if you have a half hour this is a pretty good listen regarding the landscape of jersey basketball.... lindens coach is on the show talking about our wins in the past over st pats and st ants when they were the usatodays #1 ranked teams..... he talks about the transformation of quadri not only physically by losing weight but also his development as a 4 year starter for the tigers....

Thanks a ton for joining us here and providing some great information on someone that will be a great Bearcat in the future on the court and in the classroom!

Hopefully other recruits are excited about Cincinnati's season as well......

UNION, N.J. – Cincinnati commit Quadri Moore is trying to win a New Jersey Tournament of Champions title while also keeping en eye on his future college club.

The 6-foot-8 Moore — who could be New Jersey’s most complete player this season — is committed to play for head coach Mick Cronin and his No. 7-ranked Bearcats next season and spent a little time discussing their season.

Cincinnati currently has a record of 24-3 with an impressive American Athletic Conference record of 13-1. They have three important wins over Louisville (away), Memphis (away) and Connecticut (home) and ironically, their next three games are against those three teams and will likely determine who gets the number one seed in the conference tournament.

Cincinnati has a huge home game Saturday against No. 11 Louisville (22-4, 11-2). The Bearcats currently lead the Cardinals by a game and a half for first place.

“I’ve been following them a bit,” Moore said. “I’ve seen a couple of their games on TV. They’ve had a couple good, quality wins and they’ve been doing a good job this season with being ranked in the Top 10 in the country. I speak to coach Cronin quite often.”

Moore also discussed how he thinks he can contribute to their team next season.

“I think I’ll just have to do whatever the coach tells me to do and do my job,” he said. “Just listen to coach [Cronin] and I’ll fit in perfectly.”

He mentioned that his rebounding ability and instincts have improved this year and thinks that aspect of his game will translate immediately to the Bearcats.

“I don’t think they’ll need my scoring so much, but I think I can add that too if they need it,” he said. “Also, trying to be a leader, even as a freshman, on the court.”

Moore has led Linden to an 18-3 record on the season and they’re currently ranked fourth in The Star-Ledger’s Top 20. Their next game will be Saturday in the Union County Tournament. Linden earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament and has a bye until the quarterfinals.

“If we play like we’re supposed to play, I think we can win the whole county,” he said.

When pressed about a potential Tournament of Champions run, Moore played down the idea, but didn’t rule it out.

“That’s far ahead of us,” he said, “but I think we can get there.”

Quadri is avg 17.2 pts and 7.3 boards.... also over one block a game for the loaded #4 linden tigers who will take on the plainfield cardinals wednesday night in the semifinals of the union county tournament.... the other side of the bracket has #10 roselle catholic taking on #5 patrick school.... our county tourny is tougher than the state tourny! lol im hoping the state tournament plays out like it should-- will set up the game of the year between #4 linden and #2 paterson eastside in the group semifinals.... thats a far way off still but heres to wishful thinking! lol nah i like our bracket in the states but anything can happen!

Nice. They play in the same division? That would be a game I would love to watch

no they arent... thats why they can only meet in the tournament of champions...... jersey plays down to 6 state champs every year.... 4 public 2 non-public..... those teams are then seeded in the TOC and they play down until there is only one team left whose last game is not a loss... tends to give the other 5 state champs a bad taste in their mouth finishing the season with a loss right after they won the state title.. but thats the way it is!

I think this is how every state should do it.

this could be the first time since 2001 that a public school wins the TOC!! last time was camden and the messiah dejuan wagner.... such a shame he had health problems him and lebron never got to reach their potential together on cleveland!! i am only 36 but have been watching NJ high school basketball for the past 25 years.... wagner is the best player i have ever seen at the high school level.... whew...

Agreed Wagner was amazing. Didn't he have a game where he scored 100 points? He terrorized us his one year at Memphis, almost beat us on our senior day by himself!!
