I may be way behind the times on this, but I just realized yesterday that you can subscribe to GoBearcats on YouTube and get updates when new videos are posted. So for those who like watching the interviews and press conferences, not a bad way to go.

Steve Logan was one of the best point guards in UC Basketball history. But, what I and LT are referencing specifically is the Mick Cronin era... the guy in 11 years has NEVER been able to recruit this type of floor general and thus it impacts the style of play. Again, say what you want about how he likes this slow, grind it out approach, but its a all result of him not be able to recruit PG's at a high level. I see this slow tempo as his excuse and outlet for not excelling in the recruiting arena.

He has tried to and struck out on many, Teague and Bledsoe come to mind

I'm with you - my comparison is on their styles more than results although I think you downplay Troy's effectiveness too much. I expect Troy to have a really nice season, I'm not expecting a first team All-American, Steve Logan type season.

Regardless, can't wait for the season to get started.

Go Cats!

I have one single issue with regards to Troy playing point guard and that is his lack of ability to see the floor and deliver the pass at the optimum moment. He is too quick to shoot, as was Logan at times. The difference is that Logan had an uncanny ability to get himself open and shoot quick and accurately, and to get fouled and make his free throws at a very high rate.

Teams don't respect Troy's shooting that much because of his percentages, so he is often open and doesn't have to create his own shot. But, he doesn't make his shots at a prolific enough rate to shoot as much as he does, nor does he have the passing skills or creativity to get others the ball when they have the best chance to score. He's getting better, plus his lack of turnovers is a huge plus. I do think his lack of turnovers is tied more to the fact that his passing and creativity are not elite and therefore he doesn't take many riskier chances with the ball. And, when I say "riskier", they are risky for Troy, but not so much for players who are true point guards.

What about a firestick? Thats also what I have, and havent heard the best things about chromecast always working correctly

I don't know about firestick. Chromecast has always been fine for me and you can download the Googlecast app and mirror anything on your screen to the TV. So if you stream through Reddit you can still put it on the TV, even if the link doesn't have the casting option.

Totally agree with you, I've never been a fan of Caupain as a point guard. He's a nice player, but not a great point guard. Jennifer is a true point guard, but needs work and maturity.

Troy isn't a great PG? Weird

I think you're underestimating Troy's ability to see the floor. His assist to turnover rate was really good last year, and only strong better season by season. He's a good passing guard, like previously said he hasn't had the people to pass to for most of his career though. With some real shooting threats evolving at Cincy you should see his assist numbers go way up.

Cronin tweeted: Just pulling off the best Campus in the country and going home in the best city. Both...CINCINNATI!!!#bearcatnation.

Go coach.

Troy was snubbed from the Bob Cousy Award Watch list yesterday. Today though, Evans was named to the Jerry West Award list.

HUGE SNUB for Troy.

Im willing to bet his numbers will be better than most guys on this list including assist to TO however, its Monte Morris's to lose in my eyes.

Guy is going to have a big year.

Jacob getting the nod was pretty damn cool though.
