Evans 41-42 FG% 36.5 3FG% 12.5 PTS 6 REB 2.5 AST 1 STL 1 BLK per game this year?

I'd like to think Evans can come close to 14-15 ppg this year. He shoots free throws well so I think if he can increase he free throw attempts this season, he can really increase his ppg number as well. I don't think it is a stretch to say 45% FG%. I have high expectations for Jacob this year.

Yeah, he stated that in an interview he had that he knows he needs to get to the line more because it's basically an automatic 2.

I certainly think Evans is capable but I'm not sure he will get the opportunity and amount of looks he needs. We are going to be very balanced 1-5 so I'm not sure who will be the focal point. Obviously Jacob came on last year and is probably capable of being a focal point but obviously coach really likes Caupain too. We should also see 20-25 PPG from the starting bigs. I can imagine a scenario where we get about 15 PPG from each position starter/bench which would be about 75 PPG as a team. Here is a very crude idea of what that may look like (which I understand is not likely to play out exactly like this).

Troy/Justin 12.5/2.5
Kevin/Jaron 8/7
Jacob/Jaron 13/2
Clark/Scott 12.5/2.5
Kyle/Quadri/Nysier 10/2.5/2.5

Again, this is just a rough way to look at 15 PPG at each position but I don't think it's too far off from reality. I actually think we might be able to score closer to 80 PPG this year based on a motion offense and better offensive players overall. I think that's the only way we have a 15PPG guy.

I like it, its good. Maybe Caupain will get 15 a game himself?

I also don't want to continue to build Jacob up to be a superstar on these boards. He is a sophmore and will have some games where doesn't have it and will probably frustrate people. Gary Clark had a great freshman season and then people put the expectations of the world on his shoulders and even though he had a good season, he didn't mean some people/s unrealistic expectations.

Im counting on Troy Caupain to have his best season yet. Our Season really depends on him. We also need to expect more from KJ and I think he should have his best season yet.

I want Evans to play his game and not try to over do it. I want him to be efficient and not a volume shooter. If he scored 11 a game I'd think that would be pretty damn reasonable for him. Especially if Kyle washington, TC, and Glark are all in double figures as well

I like how Gary is starting to have range. He takes smart shots as well. We just need to have the mind set when he gets the ball down low make things happen. He can't be stopped if he really goes at it.

Who's expectations didn't Clark meet last year? He was incredible. The only thing that slowed him down was injury. I don't ever remember anyone being disappointed with Clark last year.

In game threads I saw many people complain about gary not being assertive enough.

People expected a double double on average as well. I personally was not disappointed with Gary Clark and Overall i think most people are satisfied. But his freshman year, made some people expect his sophomore year to be NBA worthy. It wasn't.

Im excited about Jacob Evans, but I also don't want to put too much expectation on him. I hear people talking NBA (and Im guilty of it) but just pulling back the reins on my expectations.

Exactly. He was conference defensive player of the year too, wasn't he?

I think that's fair.

Man are they high on Rohde Island. Here's some other ranks of teams that we will play this year.

Out of Conference:
Rohde Island - 18
Duke or Penn St. - 1 & 64
Iowa State - 24
Butler - 41
Xavier - 5

Conference:
UConn - 19
Memphis - 83
SMU - 56
Temple - 75
Houston - 72

I think they are sleeping on Houston. Everything else seems accurate. We better at least split between ISU and Butler. If I had to chose 2 teams out of non conference I really want to beat is obviously Xavier and then my second is Rohde Island so we can play Duke and it's our first big game. Would love to start off the year with a top 25 win 2 weeks into the season.

Definitely agree on Houston.

Gary had the lowest FG attempts per 40 minutes on the team last year. That's about my only disappointment for him. No way he should be lower than Moore, Jenifer, KJ, or Thomas. I would like to see his confidence and aggressiveness build this year on offense.

That's key. I also see that Caupain was at 13 ppg last year. Imagine if he gets to 16 or 17 pgg this year. That would be amazing. He shot 32% from 3 last year. I did the math, only 5 more made 3s would have gotten him a little above 35%. He needs to be at 35% at the lowest, would love 37% or more. He struggled in the middle of the season but really picked it up at the end. I remember his 3 point percentage was around 30% middle or most of the season.

That stat is insane. And infuriating! Gary should be taking the 3rd most shots.

Finally got my season tickets in today. Look much nicer than last years.

Minus the extra Xavier tickets I bought, they look like high school tickets . But overall presentation is much better this year

Mine came in as well. Agree. The design is really cool and I love the history tidbits.

Also AAC media day on Monday . Troy and Gary will go along with Mick.

Apparently ESPNU with be covering it starting at 3pm

I agree about Caupain. I think that, as long as he stays healthy, we'll see the fg% go up. Didn't Mick say in his presser that Troy played injured for the second half of the season last year? I can't remember what he said the injury was...
