I would have loved to have been able to see how Quad would have finished the game against St. Joes without getting hurt. He was finally playing with confidence that we hadn't seen all year. Could have been big for him moving into the offseason. If Mick is going to play Quad next year, one of two things needs to happen:

1. He needs to drastically improve his lateral quickness so he can guard guys on the perimeter.

OR

2. Mick needs to play him at the "5" so that he is inside the paint on defense and he can stretch the floor on offense.

Quad to me is a face-up basketball player. He would really have to work on adding a post move or 2 during this offseason. He has a knack of floating out for jumpers

I was referring to where he needs to play defensively. If he floats out, that opens the paint for guys like Troy and Jacob to get to the rim. I'm ok with that.

think you'll see that with Washington in the post. He can hit some shots from outside the paint.

Moore backup 5 all the way IMO.

That was my thinking. No backup 4 minutes. Only backup 5. From a defensive perspective. I don't care much about who is a 4 and who is a 5 when it comes to offense. Play where you are effective (inside or outside, etc).

We have scott for back up 4 minutes but he IMO will not be ready to play a role offensively. Brooks wil lneed to hit the ground running or we need a big Grad Transfer as a back up to Washington. Washington can also provide minutes at the 4.

Quadri is awful. I'm sorry to say but to say that he was playing a great game makes me judge everyones basketball IQ who agrees with that statement. He plays absolutely no defense at all. His closeouts are terrible. He has no help defense or on ball defense at all. He rarely ever boxes out and goes after rebounds. He releases to try to get a head start on the break instead of rebounding. He released in that game giving up layups off rebounds a lot to his man. Offense is all that matters to him. He travels almost every time he touches the ball. Yeah he hit a couple wide open shots against St Joe but he does way more damage being on the floor than the tiny couple shots he hit that are good. He doesn't belong playing at this level. If we want to win championships and compete at the highest level kids like that are not in the ingredients.

We would be LUCKY if he transferred.

I hate seeing people stretch to even try to compliment this kids game or act like he is going to be anything. He is wasting a scholarship spot.

#QUADSQUAD will make you eat your words. No turning back now

I said the same thing about Parker.

Oh man you think Parker was good no wonder.... VERRY avg player. At least he played defense and rebounded and had a little bit of athleticism and fight in him. But nothing about him was great. Quadri has nothing but taking a ton of very bad shots and making a few of them going for him...

When your team only scores 60 PPG. Id say averaging 10.9 is pretty efficient. everyone cant be SK

But dog on parker all you want, but without him that team doesnt make a sweet 16. And my point of comparing him to parker is, just because a lot of fans want you out after your sophomore year doesnt mean you cant be an effective piece to the puzzle your junior/senior years

But carry on telling a 19 year old hes worthless and doesnt deserve anything good in life, you wear it well

You would have to be a fool to go against Squadri Moore. He will make you rue the day.

Its all based on optimism he will grow. This is usually the year players show the most improvement generally. the 2nd off season with a trainer. From other people, mostly chad, you hear his additude has really changed and he is buying into the program more and more. So if thats true, add some more strength and agility coupled with being an "upperclassman" you hope he matures and doesnt try to force things and lets the game come to him. If he does that, he can really help this team, whether people want to believe it or not....On a side note, the team is 1-0 when quad has a man bun. So we do have that going for us.

Quadri's job is always going to be- come in make shots- rebound a little. He will never be a great defensive player but he has to make shots. Some of the greatest bearcats could not play defense Pat Cummings/Steve Logan but they could put the ball in the hole.

If we end up in a situation where we use our available scholarships on transfers and immediate backcourt help (the Martin's and Bowman for example), it wouldn't be the end of the world if Moore and Brooks competed for backup minutes behind Washington. Even more reason why we should play man imo...you have 5 fouls, don't give up layups, box out your man. Keep it simple.

amazing to me that you want to change a top 20 defense. Your reasoning is not the product of a good Catholic education. Lol
