2016 General Recruiting

We seem to get 1 really good player per year. Holding 2-3 schollies for "premier talent" for a subsequent year makes no sense unless or until you prove you can land 3 in one year
it makes better sense unless than giving away the churches money on a 22-23 JUCO PROJECT!!! The bar has to be raised around here.

Off top of my head no other top schools sit directly in middle of major city but UC and GT. That factor alone should help big time with recruiting. All the blue blood programs might have top facilities so they say but none of them offer the bright city lights in college. 2017 recruits and going forward we need start selling more than a weight room and locker rooms. Sell the entire city stop selling ourselves short
how about Pittsburgh?

College has been like this for decades nothing changed really. Media coverage of transfers is only thing that has changed. We cut ace mcghee for d johnson. Mcghee went on to become all American
if you don't think that the amount of transfers has increased please show me some numbers to support that. Would really be interested. Thanks in advance.

I didn't say that amount hasnt increased. I said this isn't nothing new. So go find your own proof

If we don't fill another scholly we will have gone 2 years with 11 players on scholarship....none of which are 5 star guys. We are not in danger of not having enough schollies for prime talent. That is laughable at this point.

I think some people are still expecting the Fab 5 to show up here out of the blue sometime soon...LOL!!

I'm not a fan of pushing players out the door either but if we ever got into the unlikely scenario where we wanted to sign a high level talent and we were out of schollies...we could figure out a creative way to make it happen.

It's a non issue. Hold 1 scholly...but no more than that.

If its 17-18 local high school kid sign em up. Not some 22-23 juco project guy didnt even score more than quad at juco. I don't want to hold scholarships either but im not giving away free money

Next year team could have 3 all conference players and top 5 scorer in ncaa. Pay what you way for couple high level high school guys. Swing for fences.

I doubt we are looking at adding a juco "project". We are looking to fill holes and add some depth. If you try for a HS project and miss you have wasted 4 years of a scholly rather than 2.

Top scorer in Gary or Troy? Just curious on your opinion because I could see both. I'm thinking Troy though.

I wouldn't be mad getting this JUCCO. I think he goes to Oregon State regardless, again I get wrapped up in social media and see he follows some Oregon State stuff and even saw something on Temple. Nothing on UC but it was a quick glance.

Anyways this dude isn't going to make or break our season. Only crazy thing that could happen is we get some grad transfer out of nowhere that can really help which I don't see it happening.

If it is an injury free year, and we stay out of foul trouble then we really can make this year a good one. I don't know if you can count on that though. Those variables are a big part of the game.

I do know I'm sick of seeing Xavier and other schools on these top guys in 2017 and not hearing our name being thrown around. Then again, I don't know how private we try to keep our recruiting. I can see us trying to be under wrap with a lot.

All-in-all there's nothing we can do or say on how this team will shake out. All we can do is hope for the best. My biggest wish for next year is the players putting in the work needed to progress like a Kilpatrick and Jackson were able to do. Troy needs to be the player we saw against Memphis and UConn. We know what we have and can't count on new guys showing up, so the ones we have need to bring it every practice and game.

Kevin is a 23 project. Nothing more nothing less.

His new name is Mediocre Mick and the university already decided to extend him 2 more years

Ouch. Mick my man but I would've paid for his trio to Vegas if im uc along with his pink slip. Don't disrespect our brand name by interviewing at a lower mid major

WaiTe seriously dude. Start reading posts or stop replying. How about evans what? Only one player on our roster was top 5 scorer in ncaa.smh keep talking about what bout troy? What evans? Smh
sorry for confusion. I'm asking about his ability to lead team in scoring next year. I think he will be our best player.
