Is Bruce Pearl really that good at recruiting? Or is there a real possibility he is "cheating" again? This is a legitimate question, since I never really followed him that close while he was at Tennessee.

Off Topic, but isnt his daughter a cheerleader for UC?

That isn't saying much considering it's the SEC. Who else would pose even a threat? I guess maybe Florida, but doubtful without Donovan there. LSU? Arkansas?

Alabama just landed Terrence Ferguson...Avery Johnson could turn that program around.

Take a look again. The SEC is making a run at becoming a big time basketball league. It started last year when the commissioner mandated that each team submit their OOC schedule for approval to make sure it is up to par. The talent at LSU, Texas A&M and now Auburn and Alabama is rising (the first two both have top 15 recruiting classes coming in. Georgia and Ole Miss are already solid NIT/fringe tournament teams and so is Arkansas. A lot of top tier talent is coming into the league, just look at the 2015 NBA draft.

I named LSU. Alabama has always gotten good recruits and haven't done crap with them. Yea, maybe with Avery Johnson that will change but I'll wait until I see it on the court to say they are a threat to UK.

Georgia and Ole Miss are threats to UK? Ha.

While both of those schools are up and coming, I'm in the camp of wait and see what happens. Because neither has shown the ability to knock off the big dog.

Never said Georgia and Ole Miss will be serious threats to UK!!! You said it's not saying much considering it the SEC and I was letting you know that the SEC is getting serious about basketball and it will be a top 3 league within a few years (hard to top the B1G and ACC). Those mid-tier schools are beginning to make much more of a commitment to basketball.

Why does it matter?

SEC schools have more money than any league besides big12

I asked who else would even pose a threat and you named those teams. They can get as serious as they want, Ole Miss will never be a threat to UK.

Wow some people are so arrogant of their own opinions and love to argue!! What even is the point if you refuse to even read my posts? Grow up, imo.

Yes, I'm arrogant:

I am not the biggest UC fan. Most knowledgeable UC fan? Absolutely. Biggest UC fan? No...

The point is simply that (1) Auburn is not becoming much of a threat to UK, and (2) who cares if the president approves all scheduling now, none of the other teams are real threats to UK either, nor will they ever be as long as Calipari is still there.

SEC recruiting is definitely improving. I think UK is going to face a much more difficult conference schedule top to bottom. The SEC has been an awful conference in terms of depth for a long time. The conference was inevitably going to improve with UK's success.
