3-5 Next Year

I agree somewhat. I think at the start of the season you will see Cronin give the nod to the vets so the starters will probably be Guyn, SK, Sanders, Rubles and Nyarsuk. My hope is Thomas, JDIII and the freshman will be able to step up and take some of those roles. I could easily see Lawrence play a lot of 3 as well which would be in favor of Sanders.

Nyarsuk couldn't start for Presbyterian (and they beat us). All he is is tall with long arms. Waite Hoyt said I shouldn't have expected Mick to be able to teach any offense to Cheikh. Well, Nyarsuk is light years behind Cheikh. Good luck with him at the 5! Kelvin is, at least, athletic, but I don't want to see him start either; but, if I have that faulty dilemma, I'll pick Gaines.

In my opinion, unless someone improves a lot more than we expect the starting lineup is going to be Guyn, SK, Sanders, Rubles, and Jackson. Big Dave will sub in for Jackson when we need his height, Shaq will sub in for Sanders when we need his offense, and Lawrence will rotate with Rubles. I am not sure who besides Guyn will play PG at the beginning, hopefully one of the new guys is good enough to get some minutes. I really don't think any of the freshmen will start at the beginning. And I think it's amazing how much people expect from JDIII. He wasn't that much better than the rest of his class when he came in and he's been hurt all year, and people expect him to be starting PG when that's not even his position

i agree on JDIII. He made one shot against ST.Johns and some think he is a star. He played less then any of the incoming players and was not seen this year prior to injury. Certainly the fresh will have to earn their time. It is there for the taking.

1.Guyn-JD/Jonhson
2.Killa-Coupain /Morman
3.Rubles-Shaq /Sanders
4.Lawrence-jackson
5.Gaines-Jackson/Strickland

I think it comes down to Nyarsuk and Sanders being gone next year.

And as far as the guards go who really knows who will be a point guard other than Guyn thats why I give him the nod, really there are five options to play the 1

What makes you think Sanders will be gone? Mick has said he is Parker's replacement

IMO.
I have nothing that says Sanders will be gone, I just feel we have a lot of depth at the two & three. So if I had to make the decision of telling a player that he has to transfer I would choose Sanders.

I honestly believe we are going to start 2 freshman next year. Kevin Johnson and Jermaine Lawrence with both likely settle into starting roles.

1. KJ
2. SK
3. Shaq
4. Lawrence
5. Rubles/JJ

Next year will be an interesting year. From everything I hear Kevin Johnson's high basketball IQ will trump the rest of the team. Freshman PG's usually aren't great, but We need a true general out there, I don't care what year they are.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if there was something I hadn't heard that led you to believe that. Someone earlier said that Mick on a radio show said Gaines has to make a decision about basketball since he is close to graduating, so he is the only current player I could see leaving.

What is the deal with JDIII? Is he supposed to recover anytime soon?

He will recover before next season and redshirt this one.

Everything I've heard is that he has been healthy for a while now and has been a full participant in practice. I even saw him practicing in the background of a video interview post-injury. Him redshirting appears to be strictly a basketball decision, not an injury decision (although he did have an injury -- I believe to his hand).
