Your perfect rotation for conference play

You post this on a Bearcat BB message board...one which you have made it clear recently you would like to see a coaching change...and then ask me not to draw the obvious conclusion? ROFL

By the way...Mick's name was never mentioned...but that's who you were referring to right?

Waite, you seem to love watching teams with coaches that never get fired, get us to the postseason, and then get knocked out quick. I like championship teams and coaches myself. But, I'm also watching those Bengals myself. If we give Marvin another 20 years, I'm confident he'll give us a deep run at some point. Gotta love job security.

Marvin Lewis has actually won some championships. Why would you associate a reference to him with Mick? ROFL as well!

L-T have a nice New Year. The conversation with you has gotten a little stale. Your obsession with putting Mick in a negative light has gotten old. Really don't see where either one of us is benefiting from our dialogue. Enjoy the season.

Way to take the high road, Waite!

Sanders is finally looking like the player many of us thought he'd be coming out of high school. Hard to keep him off the court. I love the possibility of Thomas but i'd rather have results.

One thing I will give Sanders is that he plays really hard. If you watch him, he does something that NO NBA, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL, OR GRADE SCHOOL PLAYER DOES-he follows his shot after he shoots! That is all hustle, and it shows. He isn't nearly as skilled as Shaq, but I love how gritty he is. He leaves it all out on the court and he doesn't pout like Shaq does at times.

Really hate to put someone on ignore but it's just to obvious he has a axe to grind with MC. I felt like responding to him was giving him the attention he covets. The fact that MC will be here for awhile is not making him a happy camper.

If he can hit a few shots it certainly helps. He seems to have one of the better IQ's on the team but he isn't as athletic as I would expect from a kid from NY.

i am ready to give Caupain the keys to the car and let his drive this team...as a freshman he will have his ups and downs, but he deserves a shot at being the main point guard and getting most of the playing time...

Thank God! Lol, an ignore was exactly my goal in the 1st place in responding to Waite the way I did. Now I can discuss the Cats in a serious way (as I did earlier in this thread) without Waite's LMAOing and 25 exclamation marks and defensiveness about this coach.

As I will say again, we need Thomas and Guyn to reach their potential if this team is going to be all it can be. Especially in the case of Thomas, we've seen what he can do when he's playing loose. Guyn is talented defensively. Mick has also stated more than once that his shooting form is fundamentally solid, that he does a good job of squaring up and being on balance when he shoots. He speaks highly of both, and obviously, if they are starting, they must be working their butts off as well. The answer is not to move in another direction, but to push the right buttons to help them realize their potential. I really thoight Guyn was strong early in the season, but he definity has regressed recently. Caupain is definity playing better but continues to not start. Guyn is still starting, so to Waite's point, what is that saying to the guys outperforming him when the coach keeps rewarding him with the starting nod?

Not sure why these guys reaching their potential and making the team stronger was cause for Waite to "LHAO" and give us all an emphatic "Wow" and launch into his usual tirade, but now that he is ignoring me, these threads can now take a calmer and more civil tone. Thanks to CaptDale for the way he responded to my original statement. I really wasn't expecting an earth-shattering and laughter inducing response to such a simple concept.

Because you said the following in a Bearcat BB forum to a person you were debating with about our BB coach.

If you were referencing other teams or coaches (that Waite loves) besides the Bengals and the Bearcats please fill us in so we don't take it out of the context it was brought up in.

There are times I see sme of the petty stuff people argue over and all I can do is take a deep breath. I'd love to see one thread debated without it descending to an argument at a high school lunch table.

So back to the perfect rotation.

TC is outperforming GG in almost every conceivable category other than a very slight margin in TO's and perhaps D which can't be calculated. Personally I would rather see KJ as the back up to TC at this point. KJ plays great D but I think has a lot more to offer offensively.

SK no brainer..backup KJ

ST or JS (or someone else). This is the toss up. Consistency vs Potential?

TR is a no brainer with a no brainer Lawrence to back up

JJ is a no brainer with a no brainer Lawrence to back up

I think I'm way higher on Shaq than most, even still. I've seen him on more than one occasion step up in big games or late-game situations. He's got something special in him, and I've seen it in flashes. For a program like ours, a program that will have a hard time bringing in top-25 recruiting classes consistently unless we make some deep runs in the tourny... a guy like Shaq has way too much potential to give up on. He has moxy... I've seen it, and I swear that it's there. Call me crazy, but I KNOW he will become a really good player before he graduates. If he's not averaging close to 15 ppg his senior year, I will be shocked. If it doesn't happen, I will eat crow.

jeff I respect the effort you put in to running the site. I really don't wish to be disruptive to you or others. It is that reason I will not be posting in the future. Thanks again and have a great New Year.

I agree. Sanders is one of the more cerebral players we have. I think he's performance has improved as a result of more savvy guys like Johnson and Caupain in the rotation. He might not create a lot but he's gets to the right spots and now we have players to get him the ball.

Three weeks ago you could find almost nobody who even wanted to see Sanders in the game. I was one of those people. He sure has grown on everyone very quickly. Everyone now seems to be losing faith in Shaq. I still would like to see Mick stop with the "quick hook" in Shaq's case. I just think he has become Mick's whipping boy and he's playing way too tight because he knows he'll get yanked on his first mistake. I agree with Robert. There's a very good player inside him waiting to bust out. But, at the present time, his psyche is getting in the way. I hope he isn't the next JDIII. I would hate to see him blossom at another school. He is starting to look very frustrated with being on a short leash.

You make a good point. I was down on Sanders as well. It's hard to balance & reward production and psyche of the team & individuals. The other side of the argument is the effect on Sanders of not being rewarded with more minutes - which could come at the expense of Shaq. It's not going to get any easier next year when Morman is in the mix.

Shaq's inability to adjust his game and shot are his issue not the coach. He continues to dribble into double teams with the ball unprotected and he still shoots the same flat shot and has a low bb iq. His problems are his own. I think he could add a whole new diminsion to the team but like a younger JJ he has to do what HE needs to do in the offseason to be a better player. Shaq owns that.

And for the record JD3 has not blossomed anywhere yet nor do we know he will. He may however do better playing against a lower level of competition.
