You seem to like to use the word mediocre too much. And you can almost make it seem believable when you cherry pick stats like that. However, when you dig deeper, you realize that most of those losses came from the first 2 years when Mick was in the infancy of a rebuilding process of a program that was "as close to the death penalty as you can get" (Rick Pitino's words, not mine). Those teams were obviously worse than mediocre as compared to the rest of the nation, going 24-38 in those 2 years. The 3 years after that though, including this year thus far, they are 57-36. This year they are 20-6. What about that seems mediocre to you? The fact that their win total has increased every year? The fact that their APR has increased every year? Or the fact that they've inched closer and closer every year to an NCAA tournament bid?
To be perfectly clear, I don't think you're a "Mick hater." I think you're emotionally frustrated with the amount of losing over the past 5 years as opposed to the amount over the 15 years prior to that and you're allowing your emotions to cloud your mind. The detached, logical person would look at this situation as a whole and say that while Mick has made mistakes in nearly all facets of his job at some time or another, he has done far more good than bad, bringing a program decimated by a terribly handled coaching regime change and a 2-year absence of recruiting back to respectability. And what's more, the logical person would also point out that there's no sign he has plateaued. Higher caliber players are recruited every year, players on the existing roster are developing now more than we had seen early in Mick's career, the win totals are increasing every year, the attendance gets better every year, etc., etc...
