Missing the point...

Mick has already lost the average fan.

Like it or not the "true" fans are being lost.

Less Mick starts winning (SOON, gtown is a start) we are going to have a ship with a captian and no matees (Alum that proper spelling, cause i have no clue). What the!

Maybe true about the fringe fan. You dont build your program to please these people though.

I do not agree with your statement that Mick has lost the average fan. Those who do not like or want to fire are always more vocal than those who appreciate a job well done, thus the term "silent majority". 3 people out of 11,036 holding up a fire Mick sign hardly make a majority, kind of makes for 11,033 happy customers.

Fact is attendence increased by 20,000 this year and donations to UCATS are more than double what they were BH's last year.

Football plays a factor but that is interesting.

If we indeed do go to the NIT and get a home game I will make a sign and hold it up supporting Mick. Not that I feel he is 100 percent great. I have my concerns and problems with him but I think the last sign was so off it would be nice for the team and everyone to see people got their back.

The sign reported by Mo Egger said" Mick's March Sadness --After Feb. 14 2-22. Sign was across from the Bearcat bench about 10 rows up in lower section.

I'm not that guy (or at least I hope I'm not...), but LivingLegend doesn't take enough $hit on here.

I agree 100%. Thus, my signature is one of his many lame comments. Though, as he said previously he is honored that I would respect him that much-going as far as saying "Its my greatest accomplishment ever". For how great he claims to be kinda sad that the best thing thats ever happened to him is an internet message board.

Good post. One thing I have always known, anyone who likes to brag about their accomplishments is full of crap. Talk all you want about what you may or may not have done, but when it comes down to it if you have to talk about your game, it means it doesnt talk loud enough by itself!

Of course he said that, that's his job to say that... But you know he took personal note of it. Mike Thomas is sweating this very moment.

Agreed!

Oh and used to be you had to buy football season tickets too if you wanted basketball ones. Now it is vice versa resulting in Ralphies miscued statistics.

Apparently the game will be on espn360, but will not be televised. Not cool.

· Georgetown is ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press poll and No. 20 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll heading into this week and owns a record of 19-9 overall and 9-8 in the BIG EAST Conference.

· The Hoyas are tied for seventh in the conference with Notre Dame, one game behind sixth place Louisville.

· GU is 1-4 in its last five games and has lost it last two to Notre Dame, 78-64, on Feb. 27 and at West Virginia, 81-68, on Monday (March 1).

· Georgetown is 11-4 at home this season in the Verizon Center, but are just 5-3 in BIG EAST play.

· The Hoyas are ranked ninth in the BIG EAST in scoring offense, averaging 73.0 points per game. They are led by the BIG EAST’s 10th-leading scorer Austin Freeman (17.0 ppg).

· Freeman missed the Hoyas last game vs. West Virginia on Monday and saw limited action in Georgetown’s loss at Notre Dame. Freeman was diagnosed with diabetes this week.

· Freeman is one of four players averaging 10 or more points a game for GU (Greg Monroe - 15.9 ppg; Chris Wright -14.1 ppg; Jason Clark - 10.3 ppg).

· Monroe (9.4 rpg) is the team’s top rebounder and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST.

· Georgetown is the BIG EAST’s second-best shooting team, knocking down 49.9 percent of its shots from the field, trailing only Syracuse (.518).

· The Hoyas are also extremely accurate from behind the 3-point line, converting 39.4 percent. Freeman and Clark are among the Top 5 3-point shooters in the league at 47.3 and 43.4 percent, respectively.

· Georgetown ranks ninth in the BIG EAST in rebounding margin at +2.1, 4.6 rebounds off Cincinnati who ranks second in the conference in rebounding margin.

· GU leads the BIG EAST in rebounding defense allowing opponents just 31.0 boards a game.

TOUGH TIMES ON THE ROAD

· The Bearcats are 2-8 in away games this season and have a record of 9-35 (.205) in road games under Mick Cronin.

· Both of Cincinnati’s road wins have come in conference play. The first road win of the season came at Rutgers on Jan. 2, knocking off the Scarlet Knights, 65-58. It was UC’s first road win since Feb. 7 of last year when the Bearcats beat Georgetown, 64-62, in overtime at the Verizon Center.

· The second road win of the season came against Connecticut on Feb. 13, when UC defeated UConn, 60-48 in Hartford.

· UC has shot 40.1 percent and averaged 62.7 points per game on the road this season compared to 48.0 percent shooting and 75.8 points in Fifth Third Arena.

· Cincinnati’s 3-point shooting struggles the most on the road as the Bearcats are converting just 50-of-191 (.262) treys away from home, compared to 34.0 percent at home (86-of-253).

· Taking care of the ball is also a weakness on the road as UC is giving up 14.4 turnovers per game, compared to its season average of 13.6.

Have got to do better than 40 percent shooting away from 5/3.
26 percent from 3 point range on the road?

That's just awful.

Beat them twice last year. Can we get a much needed win? We have to have it. I said pryor to this 3 game strech 2 wins would put us on the good side of the bubble and 1 would keep us in the conversation. We need this win. Can we get it?

We have been playing better although the L's dont reflect that always.

I say UC finally gets over the hump. 68-61

Yes, I do realize I never learn.:(

If all the Georgetown players are sick then we got it!
