Chuck Gibson @espncollegenews @FOXsportsOH tweeting out that "unnamed source close to UC Bearcat football program says Tuberville out, asst. coaches packing up."

Now, I don't know if this is true or not, but I just received this message from my son-in-law, with a picture of the tweet included.

Huge news if true!!

Well now Tubs can say we beat a bowl team! Miami just won their 6th straight to finish 6-6!! Wow. They are going to beat us next year.

I feel like Im the only one hoping that if TT is gone that we hire a guy like Jeff Brohm a young motivated coach rather then guys like Les Miles, Charlie Strong etc. u could argue they wouldn't be interested anyway and I doubt they will but it doesn't matter my point is I think uc football program is better off hiring the young motivated coaches with big aspirations even if that means uc as a stepping stone, rather then trying to get old retreads just cause we think they might stay like TT.

That's why we got in this mess to begin with trying find a coach who wouldn't leave on first chance. Maybe gettunh young guys who leave is the way to success for uc. Well see what happens I'll still be surprised if TT is fired. maybe he'll retire and take cordinstor job but being a Cincinnati sports fan I'm just waiting for uc to come out and put full support behind TT.

Why hasn't an announcement been made that Tubbs has been fired? This clown Bohn better axe Tommy by the end of Today.

Not so sure that the timeline matters that much.

Could be that UC has told him that if he agrees to leave now they will go ahead and pay him the 1.5 mill and the 200K, or he can hang around for the next 2 weeks and get paid the same amount....either way that's all he is getting. They may also be waiting to announce anything until they have his replacement, and if they let him go now before the replacement is ready to take over....who takes over in the meanwhile? Their is a lot of logistics that have to come together when a coach is replaced.

Stability Rules

Or, UC sticks with TT, because they can't find any body better. Stability rules, and contracts mean something.

Contracts DO mean something, and I'm sure that the contract that TT and the university agreed to will be upheld. BUT part of that contract is that BOTH sides have to agree, on a YEARLY basis, to continue the contract for the next year. That's what the buyout clauses are ALL about. It's not a promise to continue employment beyond a single year, it is a series of 1-year contracts that can be terminated by either party provided all of the provisions are met.

As far as not finding anyone better?.......you've got to be kidding, right?

Let's see---Notre Dame is 4-8; Texas is 5-7; and Michigan State is 3-9---must be the head coach's fault. Right?

Well, Texas did fire their coach. Brian Kelly and Mark Dantonio get the benefit of the doubt because they actually have a good record to speak of. TT has done nothing but destroy our program. It will be even worse next year if he is still the coach.

Dantonio yes, Brian Kelly ??????

COMPARISON

Let's do a little comparison: Mark Dantonio was 18-17 at UC (52%); Brian Kelly was 34-6 at UC (85%); Butch Jones was 23-14 at UC (63%)--TT is 29-22 (57%). Is there that much of a difference? Keep in mind the previous 3 had Big East recruiting to hold on to. Dantonio has won 69% of his games at MSU; Kelly has won 66% of his games at ND; Jones has won 58% of his games at Tenn. I say, we give TT the benefit of the doubt. The difference between 5-10% in a 12 game schedule is 1/2 of a game to 1 game difference.

We're trending in the wrong direction. We went 1-7 in the freaking AAC this year. And we lost 7 games by double digits.
