Ways to help our RPI:

NC State beats Syracuse (up big right now)

St. Francis (PA) beats St. Francis (NY) at 2 pm

Xavier beats Creighton at 2 pm on FSN1

Tulane beats USF at 4pm ESPNN

VCU beats George Mason at 5:30pm NBCSN

Middle Tennessee beats FAU at 7pm

Ole Miss beats Vanderbilt at 9pm SECN

San Diego State beats Nevada 10pm CBSSN

It is better for us to SMU to win since we played them twice, they have more of an impact on our RPI.

Thanks, also helps us in the AAC tourney if Smu

A Tulsa win would be huge for their ncaa tourney resume as well.

So I would say by no means do we want Tulsa too win

Yeah, I would much rather face Tulsa in the semi-final than SMU.

Tulsa wouldn't drop in the RPI with a loss would they? BC that'd be rough to have our RPI Top 50 wins cut to 4 today (if Temple loses) with NC State hovering in the mid-40s as well.

It's such a double edged sword with that though because if they win then it improves their tournament resume. Their rpi would still be in the 60s I think I would still much rather than lose so it's 2 less teams we have to compete with on the bubble.

I wouldn't worry too much about it (unless you think Cincinnati will lose their last 2 games), right now it is all about getting the best draw for the conference tournament and that includes Temple and Tulsa both losing this weekend.

So we are #35 in the RPI. Could maybe move ahead of Ohio State if they lose today. They are #33. We have 6 Top 50 wins, 8 Top 100, #3 seed at 13-5 in AAC with 3-0 vs teams 1 and 2, and on a 5 game winning streak. Pretty impressive resume.

Love to be in the upper 20's on Selection Sunday.

I fear with our recent success the committee will give us the 8/9 seed. Which imo would be punishment. I would much rather be an 11 seed.

Looking at the bracket and if we win the conference tournament we could get to a 6 seed if we were able to do that we would most likely play in Columbus. There are two different 6/11 games in columbus. This would be a huge advantage for us.

Those locations are not fixed and are determined through a semi-complicated process once the top 4 protected seeds are put in the bracket. Basically the NCAA is cheap and wants to limit travel, and if a team is less than 350 miles away from a site, they bus them rather than fly them out.

Damn, that makes sense. Well hopefully we do somehow end up in columbus

What do you guys think about our seeding? I just feel we are destined for a 8/9 seed regardless of what happens in the conference tourney. Which really bums me out. I really wish we could get a 10/11 seed though.

I think 8 with an outside 7 is our ceiling.

Yeah I was thinking that as well. What's frustrating is we were on the bubble few games ago and would have been lucky to get an 11 seed. But now I feel we are getting punished for winning and will get the 8/9 seed lol. But I feel if we would have lost either against Tulsa or Memphis we could have been left out.
