Conference Realignment

ECU makes a lot of sense. First of all, next to Florida, Texas and California, North Carolina had more high school football division one signees that anyone including Ohio. Secondly, rabid fan base filling the large new stadium game after game. Third, in the heart of ACC/SEC country. Fourth great state and region. Solid football program last 10 years. Good school with large medical school and law school. Make any sense now?

Great post. Huge fan base. that is hard to believe NC out signs the big O

While all those things you just mentioned are true you're missing the most important ingredient, money. ECU would do absolutely nothing to add to the Big 12's future TV revenue so I can't see any scenario in which the Big 12 would add them. Any conference alignment that takes place from here on out will be driven by the almighty dollar.

I always assumed the WVU addition was more about expanding their geographical footprint and WVU was a nice anchor for them to begin with. Adding WVU alone makes no sense for the Big12. If no further expansion happens in this region you have to believe that both parties won't be happy, it's a marriage I could see ending badly. I always saw WVU as more of an SEC fit than anything else, I wonder if the Big12 GOR is going to hold together when/if that time comes.

I honestly don't care what happens to ECU, USF, UCF or any other directional college team in the country. I just want Cincinnati out of the AAC and into a top 5 conference. It can be the ACC, Big 12, Big 10, PAC 12 or SEC. I'm sick and tired of hearing how a cow town like Louisville has a better arrangement for college sports than Cincinnati. Almost puts me on the ledge.

Wherever the NFL is they are always number one. MLB is usually number two. Louisville has neither, and not even a small fry like Xavier to compete. There is really no comparison, Cincinnati is major league, Louisville is not.

No movement likely for at least another 5-6 years, IMO. Maybe in the 2020's there will be some conference realignment after the GOR's expire for the Big 12 and ACC.

I can. My predictions have been dead on accurate on basically everything.

You are like the Kim Jong Un of this board.....I suppose you also got a hole in one your first time swinging a golf club and you have never made a mistake in your entire life. Funny thing is, you actually never predict anything....you just predict that things won't happen, which is easy to do. Considering there are only 13 scholarship players per team in basketball, it is more than likely that we won't land a recruit because there are so many targets and so few spots. Same thing with realignment.....there are very few spots, so it is easy to say we won't move up. How about you man up and make concrete predictions instead of being a cowardly smart aleck? If you know everything, tell me what two recruits we will land and what conference we will be in 5 years from now. I will mark them down and grill you when you inevitably are wrong on at least one or two so that you get a dose of your own medicine.

I'll never be wrong, so not too worried about that (miracles do happen though). At least you didn't threaten to fight me, so there's progress amongst my haters.

Wasn't a threat it was an offer. No ones a hater, I find you hilarious. Not hating if it's the truth btw coming from more than just me as you can see ^^

Hilarious is the wrong word.
Buffoon, however, is perfect. Reminds me of my own delirious father who can do no wrong. Believe me it gets worse with age, not better. Don't revel in it and stroke your own forever.

Not the answer I was looking for...c'mon, big boy, answer the question! Who are the two recruits we are going to get and what conference will we be in 5 years from now? Are you afraid to answer?? I just find you hypocritical because you bash everyone else for being wrong and then you don't make any concrete predictions yourself.

Recruits: Rowsey and a big man we've never heard of

Conference in 5 years: AAC

Okay, thank you. Those seem like reasonable predictions, so I'm sure you will get 1-2 of them right. Remember, though, you said you were perfect.....close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades

Bearcat NTS-if the NCAA does not permit the waivers requested by the ACC and Big 12 for conference championships, it will open the door for UC. That could happen soon or within months. Secondly, no one ever mentions the problems of Notre Dame. By Notre Dame taking it's business to be a partial member of the ACC, ND blocks UC from entering that league. Notre Dame has done just enough (five football games with ACC schools per year and piece of ACC bowl pie) and all other sports in the ACC, that the ACC is happy with the Notre Dame arrangement. They screwed up the Big East and will do the same for the ACC. I'm an official Notre Dame hater !!!
