Deveroes Summer League

You obviously have nothing. Color me shocked.

Unlike you and so many others whose lives depend on fighting, insulting, stroking your own ego, being condescending, making fun of, being arrogant and egotistical on message boards and keeping a record of others posts to throw back in their face...............

I'm above that.

But you keep doing what you do. It wouldn't be the same if the board asshole wasn't around. :p

Is the Deveroes Summer League now a juvenile back and forth insult competition? Sure seems like it.

So you have nothing and were wrong as usual? Thought so.

Insulting eh? Let's take a look at your recent posts shall we:

"But you keep doing what you do. It wouldn't be the same if the board asshole wasn't around."

"Longhaul is an arrogant you know what."

"When talking to a 3-year old, you use 3-year old humor."

"You hype everyone. You're the worst on the board at doing it."

"I don't change my expectations. I just get sick of listening to fools like you hyping these players"

That's almost as hilarious as when you tried to tell people to get perspective yet I quoted multiple instances of you going off the deep end. Thanks for making this so easy chatter. Can you stick to being the village idiot on the other board so we can go back to discussing basketball?

Sorry, my bad. I try hold people accountable for the stupid things people say on here so just maybe they won't say them in the future. When someone wants to call me out for hyping people I expect them to be able to back it up. Sorry this got off topic. I'm through with chatter now, there is no way he'll ever back up his statements anyway.

No. He's your typical personal attacker. He does it on every board. It strokes his ego to put people down and insult them. Usually people with low self esteem have to resort to put downs and stuff.

My insults are purely fun. Yours are serious. Big difference. You live for this stuff. I just dish it back for the hell of it.

Again, I can do this all day. How bout we spare everyone this silliness and stick to the topic? Or can you even do that?

Hmmmmmm.

I get it they haven't played a game of D1 ball and still have to prove themselves but he was awful on offense last year its not hard to be better then what he produced.... 10 pts per game 54% FT % and averaged the most minutes of everyone on the team at 34 minutes. Thats terrible production. From what I have seen all of the new guards are way more offensive minded and all around offensive threats. If you watched any game last year we struggled so much offensively bc we had so many players who could only do one thing. All I am saying is all of these players seem to have inside and outside games and can all create their own shots can move the ball as well and seem to be more athletic. Just my opinion.

Parker actually averaged 30 m/game - you were probably looking at how many games started - his production was far more efficient than sk....Parker shot a better overall % than sk, and was almost 10% better from 3 pt range - he should have shot more... Statistically he was the team's best shooter
Sk played 34.4 m/game

Stats cannot directly sum up who JaQuon Parker was and his role on the team. He was a typical Bearcat-tough, gritty, and lots of hearts, but really struggled to be consistent at times. Effort was never the issue, he always gave 110%.

To get back to what this thread is really about, no current UC players played last night. Shaq Thomas and Big Dave have yet to be seen in the Deveroes League, even though they are listed on the Mansoor Law roster. Two former 'Cats took the floor. Biggie McClain had 18 points and 10 boards in the win, and one of my favorite Bearcats, Eric Hicks, had 9 points and 3 boards in 14 minutes of play in the loss. Chane the traitor (just kidding) had 16 points and 4 boards in the other game.

Either way he underachieved offensively. Terrible dribbler and passer too IMO. Missed sooooo many and one layups and with his FT shooting its basically a turnover. Worked really hard though for the most part. He did play good D and rebounded for his size and some games were he was great taking it to the hoop and hitting a wide open 3. Key word some and thats being very generous with that. He was terrible at moving the ball awful at dribbling to create anything offensively. With the exception of SK and Cash all of our guards lacked the ability to put the ball on the floor and create great shots for other people or create a shot for themselves and even they probably didnt do it enough. He had some really great games last year but they were very few and far between. He also had a lot of games where he was non existent. I just think all of these kids coming in just have more overall talent and basketball ability. I think it will be great for our offense to have almost all new guards. Our offense was tough to watch last year I think all of these kids are very offensive minded and can do it all its a good thing. Not a knock on Parker just way more excited for all these kids coming in then I have been for most of the guards we have recruited in a long time!

Agree with most of what you said.

With Cash's injury, I really felt our guards were limited too. I believe this new group will be far more athletic and mobile. I'm looking forward to a new era of players.

It seemed to me that whenever JP took it to the rim he managed to draw the foul and occasionally got the and one. However, it seemed with his poor free throw shooting that Mick prevented him from doing this very often.

Hey All, long time reader, first time poster,

Dont know if many of you saw this, forgot to post it a couple of days ago, but it just speaks volumes to the work ethic and demeanor of SK. I think that with all of the hoopla that has been going on with the deveroes right now you have to remember that the leader of this team is not even close to the city of Cincinnati right now to lead these young kids. I love how it talks about SK's coachability and how SK relates what he is learning at the training camp and experience back to what he needs to do at Cincy.

I think once he returns you will see more of a sense of urgency to make this team better because he is the main leader of this team as I have yet to see any of the other seniors (JJ, Titus, or big Dave) take that role as leader. He is a workhorse as mentioned before and I think that his return will equate to a heightened work ethic of all of the newcomers. There is the potential for all of the young guards to eventually pass the offensive production of Jaquan because they seem to have better raw offensive skills, but it will take hard work to reach the level of drive that JP had and I think when SK returns (Hopefully after successfully making the team and performing well in the games) everyone's preparation will kick up a notch. Thoughts?

I have not made it down to watch Deveroes so I appreciate the updates guys.

Everyone else, if there's another topic start a thread.

Haha, I knew you would be happy to hear Eric Hicks name. When he isn't dominating overseas or playing for the Commandos, he is playing in Deveroes. I would be curious to see how Eric looks these days-they list him at 6'6 250, still sounds like he is the same ripped big guy.

Tomorrows epic matchup-SLATS vs. Deer Park Roofing. Semaj Christon, James Farr, Travis Taylor, Remy Abell, and X freshmen go up against the UC freshman. Hopefully SLATS wins so that the XU players can get accustomed to the next four crosstown "classics."

I would be surprised if Slats did win. Just due to the inexperience of Slats against the more experienced X guys. Since I saw Deer Park last week, they looked pretty good but nothing special, they were hitting a lot of 3's it seemed. I also would be surprised if Jermaine Lawrence plays. Apparently he is experiencing pain and its no joke. I hope he is talking about UC's strength and conditioning program.

I don't really care if they win, I was just teasing. I just hope they have fun, don't get hurt, and put on a good show......

Agreed! It would be nice if the refs swallow their whistles a bit more. There was no flow to any of the games because every other trip resulted in a foul. No bueno from a fans point of view.
