Deveroes Summer League

Agreed! It would be nice if the refs swallow their whistles a bit more. There was no flow to any of the games because every other trip resulted in a foul. No bueno from a fans point of view.

The refs always seem to be bad, but it is just a summer league, there is a reason they don't get paid the big bucks......

3 of the fab 5 played today in the win over Deer Park Roofing. Caupain had 12, KJ had 24, and Morman had 30 points.

It's summer league so we should all take this with a grain of salt. That said, this team needed scoring and by the looks of it, Mormon and KJ are definitely capable of that on the perimeter. Add in the fact that it was the UC freshmen against XU, gotta like the win!

I know its just summer league but I really think KJ will be really good. He is tough, quick, and has handles to create his own/get to the hoop. Good stuff!

I hate Deveroes because I think it allows some players to be overhyped.

Having said that, I had a couple of older UC friends, who think like me in terms of not getting too impressed, who went down to the game, and they were very impressed with Caupain, KJ, and Mormon.

That alone scares me. These friends don't usually eat that stuff up.

I went to the game and it had a Crosstown Shootout feel! KJ, Mormon and Troy can really rebound!!!! Christon was slowed a little bit with Mormon on him. They hit free throws when the game was on the line. Freshmen are Mick's best so far.

I am excited to see the freshman guards. Morman seems like the type of player who thrives in these pick up type games, but I see a lot of Dion Dixon in him...just with a better jump shot.

Yeah, I agree. He is already the best lefty shooter on the team, his shot is better than Jermaine Sanders shot by a lot.

I mentioned Morman could get minutes at the three and even the two. This team will be loaded with perimeter talent. It will be young talent but I like the newcomers. Guyn and JD3 will be pushed for time as will Sanders. The only sure thing is SK which should really make everyone else push.

KJ should start if he keeps this up
Kj is a combo who will play the 2. Kilpatrick is the starting two. Caupain and Lawrence have the best chance to start with caupain being the best chance due to point being a position of need. Mick is really high on jd111 coming into next year as a scorer. Going to get alot of minutes. If there was ever a year to press it is this year. Tons of guards and lacking in bigs.

Not to mention that we aren't in the very physical BE anymore. I think the AAC will be more friendly to teams who want to go 4 guard and get out and run.,,,,

On a side note, SLATS plays again today at 1.
