Expectations for 2015-16

Sanders was stationed in corner a lot. Clark and shaq have to hit that shot next year. The floor has more spacing with shooters in corner.

Do you really believe Clark is going to be hitting corner 3's next year? Zero chance.

Shaq has never averaged more than one 3 per game. He isn't all of a sudden going to be knocking down 3's.

The NBA line has to square off along the sidelines due to having to have space for you to be able to be in bounds and get a shot behind the line. In college its a shorter line and a true arc if I'm not mistaken. Therefor a corner 3 in college is the same distance as any other 3. I will say it's easier to get a man open for a corner 3 so I wouldn't be surprised if the shooting percentages are still higher.

You are correct. College 3 is 20'9" all the way around.

Why isn't there a chance? I can recall at least 10x this season where Clark hesitated to shoot the 3. If he's still hesitating on them shots were not developing him correctly. Not saying that what he becomes but YES in today's game on need your 4 or 5 to be able to at least be comfortable shooting 3's. Clark looked special in high school when he attack rim from corner of perimeter.

I barely saw Gary take a 10 foot jumper, let alone a three. He'll need to focus on that first, if he wanted to develop an outside game.

Do you want this program to win championships or just kepp using stats to make excuses? Everybody on team next year goal should be to double their production from this year. It's put up or shut up next for EVERY team in city next year, all cincy teams could have new coaches after next season. No other major city in WORLD would allow to HIGH PROFILE coaches ten plus years without 1 CHAMPIONSHIP. If we don't win either AAC tournament or make sweet 16, I'll be open to move him from Mick.

Not sure how hesitating to shoot the 3 correlates to being a good 3 point shooter. Remind me which 4's and 5's were comfortable shooting the 3 for Kentucky, Michigan St, and Duke? The only one I can even think of on those teams is Marvin Clark. It's a nice feature to have, but it isn't necessary.

Clark needs to be able to knock down the 10 footer consistently prior to worrying about the 3.

You sure do talk a good game. It's fun to say that Clark and Shaq need to knock down corner 3's but it isn't realistic nor is it a priority for them or the team.

Michigan St, Ohio St, Arizona, Syracuse, etc. has gone 10+ years without a championship. I guess Izzo should be canned.

Bulldog I get what you're saying with the higher expectations next year, but I think we get where we all want to be by playing off our player's strengths. Not making them do more than they're capable of.

If Gary has a nice stroke from outside and it's something we haven't seen yet then great. Shoot it! It would probably be in his best interest to develop an outside game if he wants to play in the real league one day. Being an undersized 4 is hard, ask Maxiell and look at his NBA numbers.

Develop both. Quit limiting what players can develop on. Also I can name 1000 players that can hit a 3 over middle range jumper. Clark can spend 10min dribbling, 10min post footwork, 10min on jumpers, 10min free throws, add on 30min weight room in summer and become UC legend. If a player getting 100k from university EVERY year can't give me at least 1-1.5hr of his own free time(not including team workouts) I don't want him. How the hell was SK working in gym by himSELF?

Stop it all them teams have won conference regular season and tournament championships. Not including multiple sweet 16s and final 4s, LMAO can't believe you just compared our last 10 years to theirs.

I didn't compare, just pointed out how nonsense your "point" was.

Add more strengths to your game. Your teammates, coaches, fans, family deserve more. No player on team should be happy how they played this year. No player played above their ability.

Kind of convenient not to mention Wisconsin, no? Clark is 6'7" also, Kentucky and Duke big guys are 6'10" and bigger.

I feel like some people are afraid to raise the expectations on these players. Mick has never had a 1st round pick...it should be the goal of EVERY player on the team to be the first one. Clark has a chance to be great. Why limit what he can become? I don't get why the attitude is "Yeah whatever, put more weight on him, keep him in the post, and send him overseas". Our own coaches have called him the next All-American here several times. That isn't going to happen by being a 6'7" post player with 10 foot range. If our own coaches want more for him, and we saw the potential on the floor, why is our fan base trying to hold him back? We don't need to protect these guys. Clark shot 5 3s this year. I bet he shoots 12-15 next year. I think his bread and butter here will always be rebounding and inside play, especially as he continues to grow into his body. But he can be more. And I'm going to encourage him to believe that the sky is the limit.

I think focusing on a 3 point shot is not what he should be doing, why not work on his post game? Work on your hook shots and ability to create space while backing someone down and using a quick move on them. Work on a mid range jump so you can pump and drive and if they back off he can just hit that.

I feel all of those things are more suited to Clark right now, and his ability to increase those skills outpaces his ability to increase his 3 point shot.

If you think about this way if he can increase his post skills and midrange by 100% but can only increase his 3 point shot 30-40% what should he be working on?
