With the huge football recruiting news that LaSalle's Jeremy Larkin will play his football with us, do you think there is any chance that he'll also walk on and play basketball as well? With Mick's LaSalle connection, I see that as a great possibility. He's only a junior and is a really good basketball player too. He averaged 10 points a game, 42% FG pct., 34% 3-pt. pct., Defensive Player of the Year in the GCL, 1st Team All-GCL, 2.3 assists per game, 4th in GCL in rebounds, is already the all-time career leader in steals in LaSalle history (and only a Jr.), and also led the GCL in steals. I saw him play as a freshman and he was awesome then, playing alongside his brother and I thought back then, I wouldn't mind seeing either of the Larkins playing for us. I think he would be a real solid addition to the basketball team as well. Thoughts?

Depends on what was agreed to in his recruiting. If he wants to play and put it on the table, it's a possibility. That said, I think it is unlikely. I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't play basketball this year in HS just to focus on football.

Do you see him being redshirted his first year at UC? Do you see him as a starter early on?

It's my understanding Tubbs isn't a fan of his players moonlighting on the basketball team either, so that may be a big part in this.

Lots of guys that put up solid numbers in the GCL never sniff a D1 basketball court, much less a high major D1 basketball court.

And that's before we talk about the fact he'd be risking an injury that could jeopardize his football career to be a practice player or mop up guy on the bball team.

Not happening.
