Marquette vs. UC

UC opens today up as a 6.5 point favorite. Pretty generous numbers if you ask me, maybe they know something we don't. Real tempted to throw some money on that (for the underdog) but I don't like to bet on my team. Hmmmm

I find it funny the speculation Cash will play. If there's anything I can stake my opinion as being fact it's that Mick isn't telling anyone outside of the team whether or not Cash will play. People assume he will play because the coach's statement said there was no structural damage. That isn't exactly a bona fide clean bill of health. Maybe Mick wants Marquette to not prepare for Cash being out should he be sitting.

well, kenpom has the spread at 8. checked sports betting sites too and not surpriSingly they had it at 8 too.

The reason the spread is so large is marquette has been pretty lucky and won a bunch of close games. They aren't near as good as their record indicates, but that line does make me think cash will play.

I figured it had to do with Marquette being a different team away from home, but it's not like we are exactly protecting the home court as of late. On paper it does look like a comfortable win though. Average Pomeroy/Sagarin/BPI has UC #15 and Marquette #33. Unfortunately, I don't expect it to be that easy.

Agreed, and just checked my online betting site as well and the spread is up to -8 to confirm with the guy who posted it above. To answer th bold tatement: I agree with you, and if its not as easy as it should be, I feel a large part will be due to UC's own self inflicted errors, turnovers and missed free throws!

UC will win and re-enter the top 25. I'm curious if Mizzou stays in after a third blowout loss and fourth overall.

Justin Jackson has no basketball IQ. Every reason not to foul in that situation.

Only caught the overtime, and he played pretty well overall.

Huge gutsy win with Cash out. You don't have to like the way it looks but give these kids some props! Sean was huge!

I'll take it.

Questionable officiating all around, I think that Gardener kid initiated a lot of the bumps. I can't believe they got that hot from 3 in the second half.

Could have folded several times and answered. They toughed this out and deserve major credit. Tough tough win.
