Very disappointing game. This was a bad loss. We look really bad on the road....can't say that I am all that surprised considering our upperclassmen have disappeared, our coach is out for the year, and we are inexperienced. Our lack of fundamentals however is very concerning.

Some things are what they are. Coach, players, in-game tactics, but constantly traveling and making bonehead plays that lead to getting embarrassed is inexcusable

One thing that I have noticed is that teams have figured out Gary in the post. He only really uses one move with his back to the basket and its not that hard to guard.

He is and will be a heck of a player but he desperately needs to be able to hit a jumper from 10 feet because he is no threat farther than two feet from the net in the half court.

Not a single positive to this game expect the play of Deshaun Morman. I thought Larry had his worst coaching day of the short stint. Hated the lineups in the first half and thought he should have gotten out of the press much earlier. Didnt work at all tonight. That still wouldnt have mattered though. When you turn the ball over 20 times you have 0 chance to win. Havent been embarrassed in a very long time to be a bearcat fan. I am after that performance.

At times I've gotten mad at LD (and Mick) for his substitutions then I realize that unfortunately you have to play 5 players and UC doesn't have 5 good enough players. It's next to impossible to find a good lineup with this team. Shaq and Sanders suck. Morman had a good game but has been crap 75% of the year, Johnson has been crap most of the year. So who is there left to play? Even Caupain has been very average this year, Clark has been inconsistent and Ellis seems to have a lot of no-shows lately and his attitude has been horrible.

This team just doesn't have very much talent. If they are hitting on all cylinders they can be pretty good, but thats asking a lot.

I agree, also he seems to lack explosion like...I think he has sort of hit the wall in terms of energy. Remember this is a young team in terms of experience of working at the D-I level. Long season, we want to be peaking in March not mid-January...

Including the 2nd half of the UCONN game, this is 3 consecutive halves of horrendus basketball. These halves were right up there with the Nebraska game in terms of pure ugliness.

Does it? I'm not sure. I just think he has come a long way and hopefully his attitude continues to improve. It's obvious he is easily frustrated, which I would be too with how he played.

I think since it was the 2nd half, he would've been out at least the 1st half in he got another T? Just based on how things were going, I wouldn't have put him back in if that is the case. I'm not 100% sure. But I wasn't commenting on Ellis in general, just wasn't his night and would hate to see it escalate into anything else that would put him in jeopardy for Saturday.

Yet, someone didn't agree with my "bad recruiting" assessment.

This all comes back to one key point.....bad recruiting.

I agree. "Larry Legend" had a decent four-game stretch. But, it's hard to make an empty sack stand straight. That law of averages is one tough cookie.

Rather than invest in a new arena, we should pay Nike to bring back the Jumpmans. This program has zero swag.

LMFAO!!!!!!! Did you watch this team last year???

I know it's still early but its looking like they are going to have to win the conf. tourney for March to even matter (madness that is). They are running out of games to get good wins and cannot afford any more bad losses.

Well the 2011 recruiting class may be worse than Micks initial recruiting class so any one that doesn't think recruiting has been an issue has their head in the sand. I'm still not sold on the last two recruiting classes but it's definitely an improvement.

We had 3 timeouts left with under 8 min left down 47-41 with the ball before the media timeout...Why didn't LD use a timeout to draw something up? Not a huge deal, but could've given us a better chance to hang around with 7 min to go.

Sure is taking LD to make the 700 wlw post game show. Not sure there is nothing for him to talk about. If I were him I would taking some jersey's away from some guys. I would like to find out who is willing to earn it back.

I know UC fans are usually downers but come on man!!! Before this game Cincinnati was projected as a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament. They are still in fine shape to get an at-large bid simply by winning at home and not losing to the bottom of the league (Houston, ECU, UCF and Tulane) on the road. Cincinnati has 3 top 50 RPI wins: SMU (13), SDSU (26) and NC State (45). Even with the loss, per Live-RPI, UC only dropped to 39. Yes this is a BAD loss but don't get crazy man!

lets see if i can knock all the excuses out in one post.

1. we're a young team.

2. it's really hard to win on the road in conference play.

3. have you seen how nice memphis arena is?

4. Too many ribs, they all got heartburn

Lol yea swag wins games! Better defense and better ball handling wins games. We should still have a top 45 rpi with chances for more big wins. It's not over yet but this team needs to regain its confidence and that starts with Coach Davis.

20 turnovers!!!!!!!! I can't wrap my head around it. Memphis didn't even do anything to cause turnovers. 20 turnovers....20 times we gave Memphis an extra possession. Wow.
