If you follow your last paragraph you won't be disappointed when we lose

Yah that's kind of how I pegged you. Predict bad things so you can feel better for some reason if they happen. If they don't happen... Nobody cares. If you're right you get to say your favorite expression "I told you so"...Which probably doesn't happen much more than a coin flip from what I have seen.

I don't really need that false sense of security. I can handle a loss...Lol! There are more important things in life.

I can understand that mentality if you don't actually believe in your team. For me personally, all that went out the window when we went on a 15 game winning streak, went 16-2, 27-4, 18-0 at home etc. I'm all in. Nothing can let me down. We can't possibly end the year with more than 6 losses and I wholeheartedly believe we'll win 30 games.

It's been a great year don't get me wrong but ever since I was a little kid I've been getting disappointed with Cincinnati in the tournaments

There are a hand full of games Kyle or Gary hit the bench early (butler,Tulsa,Xavier,Ucf,smu) and we lost or almost lost so kyle and Gary are keys to us winning and good teams will take those two away just like we do to other teams.

This isn't new either. If 2 good players are taken away from any team, it's hard to win. If you take kennard and Tatum away from duke, they will have trouble winning. I'm not saying our team is great. We definetly have weaknesses. That's why we are a 5 seed. But all the teams do. There isn't a 38-0 Kentucky team this year. They all can be beat

We are going to have to play well to beat good teams. There's isn't room for error playing against teams with 9 all Americans. That's the tournament. Got to beat good teams

Stupid Josh Jackson got suspended. I bet one of my friends at +150 at the beginning of the year that KU would win the reg season and Big 12 tournament.
Jake I really think losing in round 1 is a advantage for KU. They can rest and I really don't think it will keep them from being a number 1 seed.

Would def pick Virginia to play...Notre Dame, Virginia and Purdue if they lose today could all be 5 seeds and then the loser between us and SMU would be a 5..Winner a 4. Would love to be a 4 seed and play Purdue Virginia or Notre Dame. All winnable games.

A lot has been said about whether or not we can get a 4 seed if we win the tourney. I think it has to be an option on the table for the committee.

I like the idea of getting the 4 seed and getting a site closer to home but it doesn't always happen that way. If we were to get penciled in as the last 4 seed we would potentially see the toughest of the 13 seeds and get the last slot in terms of site preference. Whereas if we were the top 5 seed we could get the easiest of the 12 seeds. I might prefer the worst of the 12 seeds to the best of the 13 seeds. There is upset potential in the 12 and 13 seeds but the worst of these seeds are probably overmatched by the 4 and 5 seeds where the best of them could just need a good night for them and a bad night for the other team to pull off the upset. The overmatched seeds don't have much chance in most scenarios.

Bottom line is I don't want to get the last 4 seed and get completely shafted by the committee in terms of matchups and site preference. Maybe we would be better off getting the 5 seed and seeing a decent matchup.

I don't see a big difference in the 4-5 seeds so which we get won't matter a great deal in terms of who we might see in the second game. They will be a beatable team.

After the top 4 #1 seeds I think there is a lot of parity on down through the top 25. Less separation than normal IMO but I could be wrong. WE just need to be peaking at the right time and we can win 3 - 4 games IMO. If we aren't peaking we will win 0-2.

I'm 90% sure we are a 5 seed no matter what happens.

Notes dame and Purdue fight over last 4 seed.

I can't see any of the 6 seeds jumping us. Not Maryland, not saint marys, not Minnesota , not Iowa state

90% is probably about right. If we could get Purdue and ND to lose right away and we win our tourney is probably the only chance we have. That's a lot of ifs and it is still not a guarantee even if it does happen.

I'm okay with that. I fear the committee could stack the deck if we are the last 4 seed because we are not a power conference school.

If we win the conference tourney and we get a 5 seed it's just more bulletin board material for our guys getting disrespected like the conference awards.

Don't want anything to do with notre dame. Bad memories from them beating us by 30-40 points everytime we played them in the big east. At least it seemed that way

You really never know. You also said we wouldn't crack 15 once after the SMU loss and we did twice.. No disrespect I'm just saying no one knows.

Lol try not to think about that from 5 or so years ago when we had no offense to match. We have an offense and more importantly could get a post game with them. They don't have oversized bigs like a Baylor team.
