Dude chill out go back and read. I responded to AZBearcat talking about had anyone redshirted yet(sarcasm), he was talking about Clark/Moore. I said top 100 players don't redshirt. Were did y'all get on a UC BOARD that I was talking about any other team.Your original statement was proven wrong. Just bc it hasnt happened here doesnt mean it cant, or wont happen here, or that it doesnt happen it all.
Im done you guys are right. Be men sometimes and agree to disagree.
My bad were not use to getting top 100 players so when I said top 100 players don't redshirt there was no way in hell I was talking about UC. My fault buddy I got you next time.Bulldog, it is easy when reading a board to misnterpret 1 sentence literal statements. We cant always get in your head and see what you are implying or specifically applying your statements to. Feel free to spell it out a little more on the first post (for the dummies like me) and a lot of this might be avoidable.

Rothstein's take on Sanders:
4. Jermaine Sanders needs to be Cincinnati's next JaQuon Parker: What was Parker when the Bearcats reached the Sweet 16 two years ago? An undersized warrior at power forward. The 6-5 Sanders has been a solid role player his first three years, but next season has an opportunity to be a major piece to Cincinnati's puzzle. Mick Cronin's squad loses its top three players from a 27-win team in Sean Kilpatrick, Justin Jackson and Titus Rubles. Shaquille Thomas is the only returning player who looks like he's a lock to start. The door is open for Sanders to have a memorable senior season if he plays within himself at both ends. Sanders has the strength to play power forward defensively, as did Parker, and can create mismatches on offense with his ability to extend the defense. The New York native made 35 three-point shots (hitting 37.6 of them) and could regularly pose mismatch problems against teams with traditional "4-men" because of the spacing he creates offensively. Sanders averaged 5.7 points in 21.3 minutes last season.

Basketball nowadays is all about versatility in line ups. If Sanders can take that "Parker-like" step and be able to play sustained minutes at the 4 spot then UC can be VERY versatile. You also have Morman that can slide over and play the 3rd guard spot along with Johnson and Caupain.
The season will be exciting with all the new parts!
What are the chances the starting line-up is this next year?
Caupain
Guyn
Thomas
Sanders
DeBerry
At least to start the year. I honestly wouldn't be surprised. I personally don't like Sanders at the four, but I don't think Clark or Moore would start there as freshman. I would like to see Ellis come in and be able to start at the four but you never know how he'll look. Having a year in the system at least helps a little even if it was 3 years ago. As far as Guyn at the two, if he's healthy and being a senior and with his defense I could see him getting the nod. He started all last year with a serious injury so obviously Mick has faith in him. I think Caupain makes sense to get the nod at point and putting Guyn in at the two takes the ball out of his hands and frees him up offensively. The more I think about it and with the way Mick defers to upper classmen the more it makes sense.
The starting line up will not matter much with this team. I think it is more about who do you close with. I could easily see that line up as the crunch time line up offensively. Though Johnson would probably replace Guyn in that scenario.

Guyn
Johnson
Shaq
Sanders
DeBerry/Ellis
Caupain over Guyn at the end.
I agree it will be exciting with the new parts, but i dont necessarily see the sanders parker comparison. Sanders does not show the same scrapiness and fight parker had in his time at uc, also parker didnt just spread the floor he attached the hoop hard. I also view parker as a better athlete. but i get what he is saying sanders has the chance as a senior to have an impactful season and at the four would spread the floor, but his game needs improvingRothstein's take on Sanders:

I could see that, but it will be hard for mick to remove a senior from the starting line up mid way thru without completely losing him. it would be better for mick to tell him at the beginning that they need him in a new role and that is a scoring punch off the bench. Mick did not change his starting lineup once last year i believe
