I hope you're right as he would be my preference but for some reason I don't see Mick sitting Guyn at the start, at least early on in the season.

That may be so, but I don't see it at the expense of Kevin, I have to agree with Chad here, if G starts Troy doesn't.

As much as I'd hate to say it, I see Guyn starting, at least initially. I could see him and Caupain starting side by side. KJ will likely come off the bench. My guess:

Guyn
Caupain
Shaq/Sanders - hopefully Shaq gets the nod
Clark
Ellis

I'm concerned about the lack of experience on the inside but not much you can do about that.

You Better Listen to Chad!!!!!!! The Real Bearcat Information person!

I will be beyond shocked if Kev isn't starting from day one at the two...

THIS. Kev is the most skilled guard at doing multiple things. Scores, defends, rebounds, can put him in front of the press. I hope Gelawn is fully healthy and has a great senior year but at some point talent overcomes experience and I think that is the case when analyzing those two.

My starting 5:

Caupain
Johnson
Thomas
Clark
Ellis

Really interested to see how Moore and Mormon fit in. I dont see how you can keep Mormon's defense off the floor for too long even if he is an offensive downgrade at this point in his career. Moore brings an extremely unique skill set that creates a lot of mismatches but there is somewhat of a logjam at the positions he can play. Unfortunately I think Strickland is the odd man out and sees the pine the majority of nights. The only way I see him getting minutes is if Moore somehow decides to redshirt.

I'm not sure that will be the starting lineup from day 1, since I don't believe Cronin has ever started a freshman immediately (except maybe Stephenson), but I do think that will be the most optimal lineup come January/February. Think he'll start Guyn over Caupain and Sanders over Clark, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll get more minutes.

Be respectful, be an Adult! My purpose was, Chad is a reliable source of information! Everybody on this site might want to listen to him.

I've always thought that everyone on here for the most part has been thankful that Chad posts on these forums.

I know I am.

Chad has NO info on the starting lineup he's just saying who looks good in practice and is giving his opinion on the starters!

Are you watching their practices as well? I'm not sure why you get so wound up when people say Chad has more info than you, or any of us. Chances are, he does. It's his job. Get over it.

Basketball.com, your post did seem kind of smartass-ish. So this goes to you if you are being a smartass, and definitely to Bearcatboy -- whether you agree with Chad's opinions or not, he is a member of the press who probably has greater access to the program than anyone else on this board. I personally don't have the disposable income to pay for his premium website with the triple whammy of student loans, purchasing my first house recently, and having to unexpectedly buy a new car at almost the same time -- but I do appreciate the information that he shares on this board.

I, and most on this board, am of the opinion that Chad is very knowledgable about the inner workings of the program and provides invaluable information for all of us. If you think he is full of crap, that's fine -- you are entitled to your opinion. But I would politely ask you to keep it to yourself so as not to ruin it for the rest of us. Thank you.

You have no idea what info I have and don't have. A few spots are all but set and a few others are up for grabs...

You said yourself practices are closed so you know as much as we do about who's doing what on what day( your guessing your lineup like the rest of us). Also if a few spots are set and some aren't that is the whole reason we all are on here discussing it, now if you would be so kind can you elaborate on which spots are set and which ones are not for these nice people on this site?

Practices are closed. Not to me, but that is the result of 9 years of building strong ties to the program. Swing and a miss..

With how the new offense looks I doubt Shaq or Sanders see many minutes at the four. It isn't designed for undersized small forwards playing down a position with what has been installed so far...

I'm equal parts excited and skeptical about references to a new offense. That is not meant to question Chad's insight and what he's seen thus far. It's more that we hear about improved offense every year. I'm hopeful that the depth (though inexperienced), talent level, and true low post players that can play down low or extend the defense, plus the development of KJ and Caupain will lead to the balance and flow that we've been craving.

His constant swinging and missing and arguing made me want to go check out bearcatjournal which I recently became a member to. And im not disappointed one bit about joining so far. So bearcatboy, in a way, is an unofficial sales rep for you :D

Don't know if it will be improved or not, but it is quite different with two actual post players on the floor at almost all times. The two man game stuff that was needed to win last year wouldn't work with this group...
