Typical of a big time guy. He could still be a solid contributor and he could play the 3 or 4. His length would add a lot and he has good scoring ability. Thanks for the link.

No problem. He'd absolutely be a contributor early on. Hopefully he chooses to leave home.

i had to turn the radio off when Mick starting talking about how the team did many good things tonight...

Sanders needs confidence...he has the best basketball knowledge of any of the underclassmen...yes, he did screw up the inbound pass, but what he contributed tonight cannot be overlooked...

the stupidest thing i saw tonight came from everyone's favorite Rubles...the kid is so ignorant when it comes to basketball that he rolled an inbound pass while the clock was running...rubles in my opinion has no business on the floor compared to Sanders or Thomas...

Thomas played well, I'll give you that. Rubles struggled but UC needs him. His issues seem above the shoulders but he has talent. Problem, similar to Cash's and SK's, is this offense is suited for him. Taking a guy one on one isn't his game. Cronin needs to rethink this offense (of course he won't).

I don't get why everyone thinks Sanders has good basketball knowledge. He's made more bone headed mistakes than anyone in his class. Just because you are slow and not flashy doesn't mean you have good basketball knowledge...It reminds me of when guys say someone is a glue guy. Basically means they don't excel at anything.

i think we lost Lawrence with the loss to SJU...saw this post on another site based upon an espn recruiting article...

Plans on making last official to St. Johns soon and then taking a few days after to sit down and make a decision.

What he likes about:

UNLV - warm weather, chance to play with Savon Goodman again (former AAU teammate)

St. Johns - Lavin is winning coach and turning program around; thinks he and Obekpa could work real well together (how bad does not getting Obekpa hurt now...even more)

Cincy - Coach Savino has been on him the longest and been great to him and his mother; loves the tough style of play and BearcatNation showed him a lot of love

nice guys finish last...especially when the nice guys cannot coach big men...

We need some hope right now. You don't know how Lawrence will chose his team, guessing where a recruit will go is like guessing who will win the Super Bowl 2 years from now. You have an idea, but nothing is set in stone. I thought we had Obitchpa, but Lavin cheated and got him. Every case is different. We are due for a big time recruit.

I guess the question then would be....Why did we recruit him? He has to bring something to the table. I was one who thought he would be smart with the ball, but at this point, Im not sure that player exist on this team

So a team that was struggling offensively can't at least take some positives in 47% shooting, 9-21 from 3, and 18 assists?

Good question. Everything I read had him being the best recruit of the bunch. He still has two year to prove us wrong I guess. Recruiting has been a struggle.

One of the most painful aspects of the game tonight was watching ND school us on both ends. I mean they were smart, positioned and played hard as hell for 40 min. They pulled our pants down and spanked us, hard. There defense was off the charts, even though its not hard to play D against us, they straight up shut everything down. They were amazing on offense, I don't think I've seen a team space everything out so well. I haven't heard the post game comments, and I never really dog Cronin because a lot of it I think falls on the players. But he got out coached tonight because ND made us look like a JV team out there scrambling around with no heads. I find it hard to believe the scouting report on ND was to over help on defense and leave their 3 point shooters wide open. Come on man!

Well, Im out. That was so frustrating to watch. Good thing we have a good consolation prize in watching 'Bama smoke the Pillsbury Doughboy.

The issue for me is we make it SO damn hard on ourselves offensively to get good looks other than 3ft beyond the arch

7 straight games scoring less than 30 points in the first half. If anyone tells me the offense is good they are smoking something. Think about that. 7 straight games. That is atrocious.

At some point the blame has to be placed squarely on the coach's shoulders. I think micks the right guy for this university, but his offensive philosophies are ridiculous. This style of play requires playmakers and supreme athletes and I'm not sure UC has the horses to effectively run this style.

Rubles skill set is overrated in my opinion...he is out of control...he is very out of shape...he gets winded too quickly...he has a scorer's mentality with an average shot...he cannot dribble left at all...his head fake is super effective, but once he gets passed his defender, he has 3 strategies: 1) shoot the 18ft jumper 2) drive uncontrollably to rim and hope the ref calls a defensive foul 3) dribble back out to the 3pt line...it boils down to the kid shoots too damn much with very little results...1-9 tonight...0-3 from 3...i just do not see what everyone loves about this kid

Who said anything about the offense being good? I'm simply saying there is nothing wrong with Mick pointing out positives from tonight.

I could not have said it any better

Give us 4 Michael Jordans and Shaq (the real one) in the center and were unstoppable.

This talent requires an offense with screens and movement. Havent seen it in 7 years

agreed...this is exactly the reason i turned off the radio...the defense is going to win many games...but when they play sound, and efficient offenses like tonight, the offense has to step up

Now Ralph/Mick said that Cronin is an offensive wiz! He was an ABCD coach for God's sake.

There's a direct correlation b/w the talent of teams UC's playing and the decrease in offensive output. This system works when you're playing inferior talent, not so much during conference play.

I havent been to Micks practices, but Id imagine the itinerary looks like this...

10min Warm-Up
50min Defense
5min Offense
55min Defense

Ugh Im so frustrated.....

First the Reds, then the Bengals, and now The Cats (still early but all bs aside we look like dogshi%)

We need to not have a half-assed press. We need to mix things up and put pressure on opponents. We might give up a few more buckets, but it is worth it. We need as many easy buckets as we can get.

The Bearcats shot just shy of 47%. They shot 42% from the 3 and only 45% from the foul line (5-11). ND shot 50% from the field, 56% from the 3 and 69% from the ft line. Shooting was not our problem tonight. I think we just got beat.
