Troy is the guy who can either elevate the team or steer it off course. Whether that's fair or not, that's who he is for this particular iteration of the Bearcats.

I'm still wondering where guyn went? Is he still with team? Never seen injured player not be on bench in college. I think his leadership still valuable on bench

Just gotta say how impressed I am with shaq these last couple of games. He could have very easily given up after sanders starting over him. But he's always had a great attitude on this team wether he was on the bench or in the game, which is more than I can say for a lot of players on our team. Way to step up and be a leader shaq!

Just a rumor I heard was Guyn is graduating and moving on with his life. He won't play ball at UC again. If true, that is a disappointing finish for his career.

Shaq averages 8.2 ppg when we hit 60 in 13 games, but just 4.5 ppg in 14 games under 60. I'm sure everyone's numbers go down the less we score...but that's a pretty big gap. I think we're starting to finally learn how to use him. And on a team like this year's, he could be our biggest scoring weapon.

First time in years we pushed ball 95% of game

Guyn was born in 1990, meaning he will turn 25 during next season. I don't blame him for being done with college basketball with this injury. I always compare these guys to myself...for some prospective, I was born in 1993 and already graduated.

lets not go overboard. He had a very long leash. He has been here 4 years. He has shown flashes before. His ball handling is still suspect, his shot is still flat and his rebounding is poor at best. Let's not get carried away. consistency is what he needs to demonstrate and a overall improvement in his game. It's not how he's been used its how he has performed.

For this year's team that hasn't had a double figure scorer most of the year, he could very well be our biggest weapon. Mick and LD have both specifically talked this week about how we need to use him in the open court situations. You don't change what your doing offensively this late in the year unless you think you're on to something. Last couple games by Shaq he has shown that it's working. I agree he has a lot to work on and he needs to be consistent, but again, with THIS year's team I think that's hardly getting carried away.

They were trying to use him that way as far back as the exhibition games. Mick stated many times that they had to get him going. It never materialized because he was not playing well. Would love to see him get going on a consistent basis but the story of his career to this point which is almost 4 years is flash here and there but no consistency. Hope he is able to keep it going. I refuse to get excited after a good game or two. Good players do it night in and night out. He is not there yet!

I understand the skepticism. I'm going to choose to believe that he's turned a corner...at least to a point where he never sinks as low as he did earlier this year. I think he can average 10+ ppg the rest of the way, as long as we stay committed to getting the ball up the floor.

I hope your right but he not only needs to score he needs to take care of the ball, guard and board a bit. It would be nice if he can give us that production. When him and Sanders contribute from the 3 we are a much better team. If people want to know where the hole in this line up is it been the inconsistent production we have been getting from those two. All the ripping on TC is crazy.

Ripping TC is insane. If I could pick only 2 players from this team, without a second's thought they would be Troy Caupain & Gary Clark. Is there anyone on this board who would disagree with me?.....I didn't think so.

I wouldn't disagree. In fact, I live out of Cincinnati and when my friends here check in on UC bc they know I'm a fan, I know they don't want to hear the whole story so I just tell them about Caupain and Clark.

Handwaver, we agree on something. LOL!!!!

There's nobody on this team that escapes being ripped in my opinion....including TC and Clark. Maybe they deserve it the least, but they should still get some. The whole roster has been very inconsistent.

As far as Shaq is concerned, there is no doubt that this crazy offense that we run, which almost everyone complains about, is probably as far away from Shaq's skill set as an offense can possibly be. So from that point of view, I think the way we have used him has resulted in the way he has performed, more so than the other way around. Shaq is not a slow the ball down and run shot clock kind of guy. When the game speeds up, which many of us have called for, Shaq comes alive. It's my opinion that others come alive as well.

i agree with you that Shaq wold benefit from a push the ball stand point and that his offensive game is geared that way. I don't agreee that the other players would benefit form it. Also there is much more to the game then scoring. Shaq has been here 4 years and his handle, shot, strenght, rebounding and defense all need work.

The whole roster has been inconsistent another point we can agree on.
