Just got back from the game. I thought they looked very tired out there tonight. KJ and Shaq were brutal until they werent. Their play tonight is very representative of this team this year. One play you just are cussing under your breath and then the next they do something awesome and end up saving the game. Team is just consistently inconsistent. However they found a way tonight when shots werent falling, seemed tired, lost Gary to an injury, and other team went on a 27-9 run. Gotta love their toughness. If they can somehow figure it out before March this team really could surprise some people.

South Florida played with a lot of heart. They took the game right to the 'Cats in the last minute of the 1st half and most of the 2nd half. Made a living driving into the lane for those little floaters and dunked more than I can remember anyone doing on a UC team in a long time.

Our guys missed some good looks tonight, and coming off the big SMU win in Dallas on Thursday followed by the big lead early tonight, followed by losing Ellis and Clark for stretches, I'll be happy with the win and hope the boys can recover physically enough by Wednesday to deal with a big game at Temple against a team that has to be chomping at the bit for some revenge.

This crap needs to stop. Thomas and KJ get KILLED on this board all the time. Nothing at all wrong with pointing out when they contribute heavily to a victory. KJ scored 11 straight and Thomas might have had the biggest play of the night with the and one tip in.

This place really sucks sometimes.

the act of playing a team like that is enough to make the ratings frown. Let's not schedule them again

Let's keep the KJ and Cobb stuff out of the game threads. I'm sure people who aren't everyday posters don't want to see every thread filled with the arguing over the same topic. (Nothing against you BCM)

I expected a rough game tonight after an emotional win and quick turnaround with lots of travel but was disappointed with them giving up a big lead. I thought some of the sub patterns killed momentum much like the ECU game. Hey is a win and we gain a game on first place.

I'm done with it and will again give people a vacation for continuing this line of stirring in the threads.

Excuse me, Tuesday is the Temple game, right?

Exciting to hear about getting over 11k for South Florida. I'm sure they were tired tonight, but I hope the coaches don't let the kids use that tomorrow. We have a BIG road game right around the corner. Part of the grind. We can't be sluggish or we'll lose.

I'm encouraged that we beat SMU as a 2nd straight road game and grinded out a win here. Avoiding the same pattern from the earlier Memphis and recent ECU games definitely shows some growth.

The inconsistency is a product of being young and having no true leader on the floor right now.

Come on dude, give it a rest. This is a freaking fan forum. You act like some middle school councelor. I posted at Bearcatnews for many years and watched the idiot moderators ban everyone until the site became a complete bore. Now nobody posts there anymore. You already ran off a lot of good posters a month ago. Lets not send this site down the same road that Bearcatnews traveled. There's absolutely nothing wrong with give and take, and back and forth debating as long as there are no personal attacks. The personal attacks are what destroys these sites, not differences of opinion.

I will begin with you soon as I get home to my laptop in the morning.

Now before going purely on the offensive, I will say I was exclusively a BCN poster before those...changes...happened. I found this place as a result and it was much more lax and felt friendlier. Before writing him off so soon, be aware that what he says really DID happen; this was a refuge for BCN posters who realized that place was way too stiff to enjoy. I know it was for me, and that's the sole factor that landed me here. I recognize a few other usernames myself. Anyone from BCN should be able to extrapolate what my username here stood for there...

In any case, he has a point. That site went down the wrong path and it ended up with traffic being minimized. Not saying that's happening here, but a little discretion goes a long way.

Yes good point

First of all I was a member at BCN and it wasn't people getting banned that ruined the site, it was incivility and a hand full of posters blowing up every single thread. I know some of the people who were on BCN that did that then came here and they carry the same baggage.

I get messages a lot from posters who want to talk Bearcat basketball and not get in a pissing contest every single thread. To me there is a difference between debate and disagreement and blowing up every thread with the same tired crap.

I don't mind that lively debate, what I do mind is a) it taking over threads over and over again for the same subject b) personal attacks against the players c) disrespect for the program d) disrespect for each other. When player stats and performance is debated I don't say anything and I even let the "Oh, he totally sucks" stuff go on for a little while. There comes a point it is distracting.

My role as a mod is to provide an environment where people can debate, talk about and enjoy Bearcat basketball. My primary obligation is to the posters who help add to that environment not those who disrupt it. People left here because the environment got rancid. Every thread ended in an argument. My lack of time to keep things on track aided in that and now that I have time I owe it to the people who want to enjoy this site the opportunity to do so. I don't get paid, I volunteer to do this and as long as Paul wants me in this role I will fill it. If he ever doesn't I will be happy to just be a poster again.

Debate away my friends and have differences. This site has never stopped that and anyone saying it has is simply being untruthful. Just don't blow up threads, and respect the program, players and each other. I'm not trying to restrict anything except the B.S..

If I told you UC allowed the other team to shoot 45% from the field and the 3 point line while only shooting 36% and 34% themselves; would you think they won? And what if I added the Bearcats were outscored in the paint 36-24 and outscored off turnovers 14-13? Would you think they won?

That's what happened! This was a gut it out win for the Red and Black. The bench gave UC a 15 point edge in scoring (28-13) that and 18 offensive rebounds won that game last night. Gutsy.
