Corey Allen jr was en fuego for the Bulls. It seemed like in the second half he and Collins would dribble into the paint at will, hit a floater, lob an alley oop or kick it out to Holston for open threes.

I can usually gauge how good an opposing player is by how many curses I direct towards them during the game. Allen got cussed out

These boards have certainly changed from the salad days of the old CNN-SI boards. Greg Ruehlmann and I (probably some of the rest of you) would have at it with the gang from Charlotte with vitriol and then verbally pat each other on the back from moment to moment. These days, I have such a hard time remembering passwords that I don't even post on the csnbbs site and requested a new username/password here 3 times. (for the record, I'm the troller formerly known as BearcatCarl and HattoriHanzo).

A game thread is reactionary. My personal appeal would be for leniency on a game thread but it's not up to me. People react emotionally during a game. Personally, I've tried to wait a little while after games to post because on the inside, I've wanted to say some of the things other people have said on here in the moment. I wonder aloud why Shaq is still getting so many minutes and whether or not his 3 pts and 1-2 boards a game are worth 20+ mpg, regardless of when those points and rebounds come. KJ had some very important moments last night but he's wildly inconsistent and looks slow and hesitant offensively. What's up with the sub patterns? And so forth.

Everyone needs an outlet. Some people hurl invective on a team web board in the heat of the moment. Some people record the game and watch on a 10-15 minute delay, pause constantly, drink 10 glasses of water per game and sometimes, when the play gets really bad, hit 4x on the DVR fast forward and watch the score change on the bottom. (guess who?) Last night, I was so ticked off with 10 minutes left that I fast forwarded blindly and finally hit play when Shaq got the putback +1, then rewinded back to the 10 minute spot and started watching again. Point being, everyone's different.

Again, not my call, but I don't mind the game thread and all it's quirks, drive-by commentary and overheated criticisms. We're all invested in the program and that investment has an emotional price tag. I get why some don't want to be overly critical of the kids but let's face it, this team provokes a certain level of temporary insanity depending on the night. None of it is as personal as it comes across, we're all Bearcats, we bicker and argue because we're all invested. Remember that.

If I told you UC allowed the other team to shoot 45% from the field and the 3 point line while only shooting 36% and 34% themselves; would you think they won? And what if I added the Bearcats were outscored in the paint 36-24 and outscored off turnovers 14-13? Would you think they won?

That's what happened! This was a gut it out win for the Red and Black. The bench gave UC a 15 point edge in scoring (28-13) that and 18 offensive rebounds won that game last night. Gutsy.

Call me crazy or desperately in search of a rainbow but so long as we're in this league...I see potential at the bottom of the league. Lebo strikes me as a darn good coach that could make ECU very competitive with a few decent recruits. Antigua is trying to implement an exciting brand of basketball at South Florida and his kids are playing incredibly hard in spite of their lack of success. Sampson has a pedigree, but Houston is far removed from Phi Slamma Jamma. Can any of those coaches consistently get the talent to hit a high level at their current schools?

We need UConn, Memphis, Temple and UC to be consistently good. Tulsa needs to raise their level more often than not. Get one or two of those other schools to hover between 70-100 in the RPI, and you've got a league.

I have a hard time including SMU because Larry Brown isn't going to coach forever. They're suspect to me.

Well said Doogle. My only issue is having one particular theme take the forefront in every thread. And the "I told you so" crap everytime Cobb or KJ hits a shot is so ridiculous.

I couldn't believe some of the stats after the game. The key one which is why we won is offensive rebounds. I thought it was clear we were tired. But they did coast when they got the big lead. Davis went to the deeper part of the bench to rest the main guys and once the regulars got back in they were mentally out of it. Couple that with being tired and Clark and Ellis both battling leg issues and disaster could've ensued. KJ stepped up when someone had to and Shaq made some hustle plays. Cobb was on fire the first half. Glad to come out of there with a win. With the short rest and another quick turnaround just take the W and move on. Hopefully Clark is ok. Ellis too, he's come up limping the last two games.

You made me look up "salad days" so that's one thing.

Also, be careful if you're rewinding the game and are at BW3s because it will rewind it in real life; the concessions staff will get angry when the beers refill themselves.

I agree about the game threads and emotion. I get emotional myself at times. JKD said it well, the same issues (And usually people. Some under new names after being banned) take the threads off course. That's when I have the issue. Last night KJ scored 11 straight points to carry UC and Cobb scored 16. Instead of simply giving both props and recognizing the game wouldn't have been won without either the thread went to the same KJ v. Cobb thing.

That said let's move on. I enjoy all your posts and opinions and in my mind the board is better without agitators. Last thing I'm saying on the subject.

I think I may have unintentionally started that just by simply saying KJ and Shaq came up huge. I in no way intended to slight Cobb (or Ellis for that matter cause he was great too). I just thought KJ's 11 straight and Shaq's huge and one really saved that game.

I think we should all be able to agree that it doesn't matter which player or players step up and lead the team to victory. It's a team, they are all counted on to do their job and we should support all of them through the ups and the downs.

You didn't start anything. Let's just move on.
