It is interesting: Xavier claims we're afraid to play them at the Cintas Center; the equivalent argument is they are afraid to play us on a neutral floor.
I understand what you are saying here but I am not sure it speaks to the real problem. I don't think either team is "scared" to play anywhere. The problem is we are giving up (or gave up) advantages for this game that we normally wouldn't give to anyone else. When Eggs was small time...and if they were from another state...we would have never given them home and away every year. Now that they are better established (which I think we had a small part in) the home and away looks a bit more rational. From a PR standpoint it's tough for us to cancel this rivalry that we helped build.
This is a problem we created that OSU would have never considered. We had the upperhand and we basically gave it away.
There was a time when UC played this rivalry up EVERY bit as much as Eggs (I remember) and that is the only way we can succeed if we continue it. Treating it as any other game (when they don't) is going to see us continue to get similar results as we have seen recently IMO.
