I don’t know much about McNeal. Hopefully he can contribute some. Another hole is plugged I guess. Need size and another Cumberland and we will be ready to go.

McNeal isn't very impressive unfortunately, but we needed a PG are the options are limited. In his last year he played, he had an unimpressive assist-to-TO rate of 1.4 - though he did average a good number of assists, but he also committed a lot of TO's. 3 point percentage in the low 30s.

His stats from New Mexico look very similar to Cane Broome's senior year stats. The only big difference that stands out is McNeal committed more TO's and shot slightly better from 3. His Defensive rating was also a fair amount worse. Of course he had it easier at the lower conference level.

Still he didn't have any stats last year and he could have improved quite a bit. If he can reduce the TO's, play good enough D and improve his 3-point shooting to the mid to high 30's, he can be a solid PG for us.

high usage rate on a guy that can't shoot doesn't seem like a good mix with cumberland. of the moves we've made, this is the least exciting for me.

Not exciting but I am not sure we land MAW if we also land a high quality grad transfer PG. MAW wants to play. But he is a frosh so we needed a backup plan for ball handling.

This one seems to fit. MAW was not recruited over and we now have a single season reliable ball handler if we need it.

If we land a grad transfer 5 I think it will be a similar situation. A guy who can eat up fouls and guard the paint when we need it.

We still need the scoring wing...come on down please Jaevin!!

if he's anywhere close to the 2 years broome gave us it will be a great pick up.

Interesting that McNeal and MAW commits were in back to back days. I would think MAW may have been aware of who we were looking at as a transfer PG and maybe he didn't feel too threatened by McNeal for potential playing time this year.

plus its only one year hes gonna get playing time as well

One year deal is right. After watching another video of McNeal I am a lot more impressed than the first one I saw. I think he will be serviceable this late in the game.

Still need the scoring wing and the foul eating big...but we are getting there!

McNeal's 1.1 PRPG! isn't bad considering what's available. He'd be in the top 20 of grad transfers available on Torvik. Jaevin is #2.

Finally took the liberty of checking out some video of Cumberlands cousin, he looks relatively strong and like he could contribute... The MAW looks pretty meh... I know he would be a freshman, just not feeling the recruit swap with Nebraska would of def perferred Curtis... This McNeal guy looks like a potential defensive liability the question would be is he better or equal to Justin Jenifer and I would have to say no. These are roster plug ins but so far there's been a definite decline from what we've had with all the playing time on the table we need a more definite splash forecasting these kinds of players is somewhat depressing.. the guys currently on roster I just hope thier working thier tails off bc we are gonna need a good first and last yr with JC and JB

I agree. The players aren’t good or exciting but this late, there isn’t Many options. You aren’t getting a game changer. Hopefully it’s enough for a fun year and we see an uptick in talent I’m the future.

Yup, we got a solid 4 year guy (MAW), a guy who may develop into a star (Jeremiah Davenport) and a couple of mystery guys who don't look promising (Vogt, McNeal), but might turn out better than they look. Unfortunately this late in the year it's hard to do much better. It would have been nice to have Samari (who'd I'd say is a potential star) but it is what it is.

We've still have a chance to be very good this year. Need Cumberland, Williams and Scott to carry the load, Diarra to be at least an average starter and a few other guys (Moore being the one I most hope for) to step up. Hardnett and Prince have a lot of potential and a year to adjust to the college game, they may become our next biggest contributors after the 5 above.

Adding Jaevin would be huge as well, but I've started to give up hope on him.

We wasn't looking to replace JJ or Broome this season anyway. Considering we picked up two new freshman I'll gladly take we got back over what we lost. LJ wasn't go he anything special this year at all. Brooks is main lost but diarra ceiling is higher anyway. Just filling out roster for once is a positive for me. I still see 3 or 4 all conference players on roster

Watching highlights of MAW...looks like he has good handles & not afraid to go to rack - if he's 6'3", he's playing with a whole lot of giant dudes....6'1" seems more realistic - hard to tell from video

If you were watching his aau tape then it was a bunch of giant dudes because that’s the Nike circuit which is obviously the best aau you can get, also heard from chad on 1530 that he has a 6’7u wing span so 6’3 sounds right

Cool!

Per reliable sources this is not from Jaevin Cumberland. He’s not yet out of play, but nothing real in the works as of now. Meaning this has to be Sorolla. He also followed Brannen on Twitter, for what it’s worth.

The BCJ commitment signal is up.....who is it this time? I am praying that it is Jaevin but likely going to be Sorolla.

Still no dancing bearcat. Is it possible this is Nsoseme coming back? After he declared to transfer we haven't really heard about any possible destination for him and from a UC perspective he would be a much better guy to have than Sorolla.

The other guy who might be possible is Tevin Mack of Alabama. There was talk of a super secret guy being a possibility and Mack is likely that guy. We couldn't talk about him because he didn't declare as a transfer until after he withdrew from the NBA draft.

Just throwing out ideas because I really hope it isn't Sorolla.
