Oh how I wish being comfortable was the issue with him...I do find it ironic that someone that has been bitching non-stop about the offense (rightfully so most of the time) wants to give more playing time to the most inept offensive player on the team.

Go back and re read my post. I never said anything about offense. I even mentioned its not even about x's and o's. I believe Gaines can give this team an attitude adjustment that other players can feed off of. If the offense is going to suck, whats the harm in bringing him in? Maybe they will get hustle points.

Yancy will be fine just like last year.

Mick has these guys more than ready.

The bearcats will dominate from the tipoff...again

i'd also love to see yancy actually jump off the ground for rebounds. something he hasnt done much of lately.

post play is a 2 way street. yancy needs to 1) seal off his defender/gain feed-able position in the post. 2) demand the ball.

not trying to be a downer here, but hes in his fourth year and at somepoint has to take control of this team. playing at 85% effort doesnt show leadership.

Agreed, Yancy has to be more agressive and DEMAND the ball. The problem is our offense doesn't even give him the opportunity to do this. He hasn't been coached to do these things and our guards haven't been taught how to throw entry passes because we've never done that as part of our offense.

Yancy played out of his mind last year and made all kinds of ridiculous shots that he probably shouldn't have been taking. He was clearly "feeling it" and took his game to a whole new level. Maybe he can reach down and find that place again, who knows?

I don't think you can or should expect Yancy to score in the same the way he did last year. If our game plan is to hope that Yancy hits the same type of shots he did last year we could be in for a long day.

I don't need to re read your post. Couldn't care less if you said anything about offense. Unfortunately for Gaines offense is part of the game and you can't do line changes after ever possession change. Gaines is far from being a stud defender anyway.

If the offense is going to suck, it is going to suck a lot more with Gaines in there. That is the harm.

I'm not calling the guy Dujain Blair or Kenyon Martin. Gaines can come off the bench and give this team some good minutes. He, to me, seems like he plays with an edge. The guy hasnt been in much so it is unfair to judge his offensive skills just yet. As for an attitude, that is something you are born with or developed and it cannot be turned on and off. It is something you can tell a guy has just within a few minutes

I agree with this too!
