I think its funny how PC some of you want to be. There are facts and statements that show Boatwright didn't want to play because its a NIT game. He quit on his team.

Did he not play because he may be hurt? Possibly. But let's not belittle others who say otherwise. You're just as much speculating as the ones who say he quit.

This is a forum and we aren't wrong for saying he quit. If he got an MRI that said he needs surgery, okay fine what we said was wrong. But there is no MRI so its perfectly fine to suggest he quit. Just as its perfectly fine for others to say he didn't want to jepordize his future.

I personally couldn't care less if he was injured or not. I think the fact that the player who just so happens to be the one under scrutiny here is Boatright, makes our fans look petty.

If the same situation happened with Cashmere Wright I would have supported him. Again, Boatright didn't just quit, he was injured. Who knows how much pain he is in, but I know who doesn't know - us. Again, I don't like Boatright per se, but the guy has been tough as nails throughout his career.

Cash also had serious injury after serious injury....... but yeah if boatright wants to protect and preserve his body perfectly within his right. Had a great career at Uconn, his choice to finish how he wants to

Or atleast constantly banged up it seemed like. How many times did he hurt his knee? HS and college? honest question

Most things on forums are speculation: who's gonna win, what are the keys, what should we change, team moral, etc. with a sprinkling of stats and crazy things NTS finds somewhere lol. But fair enough I shouldn't speculate as to people's emotions or what drives their decisions because you are right, I am not them nor on the team. I guess I was speaking passionately from my perception from the outside and how it appears to me. From my perception only I shouldn't speculate on the character of people, so I will correct my statements. The high horse appearance rubs me the wrong way and I personally don't like it, and that's the way it appears to the general public. That's all i should have said. and jacob doyle, if only we had a championship haha but i'm sure if we were contending for a championship the gods of fate would have broken SK's leg or something like that...... sounds familiar.
No problem! I guess as I get older some things effect me more then others. Information and how its used is a huge issue within this country. It really helps form opinions and is sometimes self serving and not even based on facts. Brian Williams is one such example. There are also plenty more. People hiding behind keyboards can really play havoc with a guys life and how people view events. The media has gotten way out of hand. Their role is to no longer inform as much as it is to shape perception. Its part of the reason we can't seem to shake streotypes in this country. The people who control the press ccontrol the people. Well enough of my rant. Lets beat Purdue!!!!

Brother I love you but I can't go along with you on this. Speculation about ones character is not alright.

Boatright opened himself up to this by opening his mouth. He should have just said he was hurt. If he was pressed about playing in an NCAA game compared to an NIT game, he should have just said that he wasn't sure if a couple more days off would have made a difference and that he couldn't play on Tuesday.

And I'm sure he cares so, so much about the criticism from Cincinnati fans that he has "opened himself up to".

Doesn't really matter if he cares either way. If UC was in the NIT and we had a player do the same thing, we would be killing him on this board too. He can do what he wants but he should be smarter than even allowing people to consider that he was quitting on his team. Some people shouldn't talk and save themselves from themselves.

The shame is that we have to be so calculating or we open ourselves up to baseless ridicule. Sorry I can't agree with your logic. People should be a bit more responsible. But then it's easy hiding behind a keyboard.

People mostly talk about the Bearcats here but discussion about other college basketball topics is quite common. From watching their game against SMU, I developed the impression that boatright is a crybaby/sore loser. I think it was obvious. He was a jerk out there on the court. And I think the sore loser in him carried over to the NIT where he decided not to play. I don't think these assertions have crossed the line by any means. No one is calling him a thug, or a troublemaker. People are just stating that they think he has quit on his team, either unintentionally or intentionally by not playing in the NIT with the rest of his team.

the point is that if you want to talk performance, outcome and other issues associated with the game that's fine but making assumptions should be a non issue. Why is it important to point him out as a quitter. Especially being no one on her knows the circumstances concerning his playing status.

A well said rant sir haha agree with it all

I just think the timing is kind of funny. Dude hits a game winning 3 on us and we suddenly find a reason to rip him. Ridiculous.
