No it shouldn't. On the positive side Ellie looks to be a rim protector with upside. I would love to see Evans play with a little more fire, he has all the talent.

Evans took over. I don’t mind him shooting every time he touches it. It has a chance to go in every time

Let's be honest, did anyone seriously not expect this? This game went according to script. Xavier is a good team and at home in this game they are going to play lights out. UC came out flat. You go in that environment against X's insane ability to shoot lights out in this game and make only one of your first 8 or 9 shots you will never win. The comeback attempt was fine, but the game had been decided already. You can't win at Xavier unless you match their shooting from the start. They focused on rounding and we are soft this year in that department. People want to hang this on Mick are clueless. The game plan was fine. If we shoot like we are normally capable of and they don't start out white hot from three and roll in every layup it's a different game. Sure we left open a couple shooters....Xavier's actually pretty good at creating open looks. Credit them and credit their uncanny ability to not miss in this game when the game is in the balance.

This is one game, one loss. It sucks for us fans cause it's f'n Xavier, but grand scheme of things we can get stronger from this. No other team will match this talent, this effort and this good fortune that Xavier did and does every year. We won't play in anywhere near as hostile an environment. This team will be fine and learn from this. Florida will be a better chance to truly see what we have. The shootout comes down to way more than just gameplans and talent. Next three games won't, nor any conference game.

For everyone blaming coach. Do you really think he didn’t game plan to guard the 3 point line. They backed doored us early with at least 3 touch passed that set the tone, we guarded no one today. X got whatever they wanted. While some may be coaching our execution was horrible. Cumberland looked disinterested early and Washington played no defense or rebounded.

The blame lies with the coach on this one. We looked disorganized, confused, scared, clueless, or whatever adjective you'd prefer to use. We, in no way, looked like a well prepared team. Period! The decision to start Justin Jenifer was just mind-boggling, and he proceeded to miss two straight easy shots to open the game and got the bad mojo flowing. The important thing to realize is that Mick coaches differently in big games than he does in all the others. His substitutions, starting lineups, etc. are far more bizarre when the opponent is good. This is a big reason why we can't hang in the NCAA or any postseason play for that matter. To leave Washington out for most or all of the second half is a good example. Evans and Cumberland were just as bad as Washington, yet they got to play their way out of their personal toilet in the second half. Why was Nsoseme in the game in the 1st 5 minutes of the game when he barely plays against the patsies? Again, just an example of Mick's coaching in big games.

It's hard to find a silver lining on this one, but we fought hard to the end and at least softened the ugliness of the loss. If we beat Florida, this will be forgotten quickly and we'll be right back on the national radar. Lose that game, and we'll be viewed as way overrated and we'll have to fight and scratch for a long period of time to gain back any respect.....which is what we have to do every season. I was truly hoping that this season would be different.

I like mick as a coach, that being said he did not put us in the position to win today. I think a lot of this loss falls on his shoulders.

I would blame our players for not boxing out and missing open shots. I would also give credit to their players for hitting every open shot. The only thing I would blame on Cronin is not having better players than them.

Starting JJ was not the problem. He out played Broome up to this point. He was not the reason we lost. Many of our players did not show up.

That is worrisome in and of itself. We are getting out-recruited by Xavier year after year and the emphasis on recruiting shooters and fundamentally sound players needs to be emphasized.

As far as the defensive rebounding, it was atrocious. I can't remember a game where we did a worse job boxing out. They simply are a better shooting team than us; however we did miss many shots that we can and will make going forward.

You also predicted quite a few more losses last year than we had. Not sure your predicting is much better than 50-50...which my grandma or anyone else can do by flipping coins.

Every year from the time I was born until the time I die every tough road game or every top 15 game will be a loss. Sad part it true 90% time.

Completely agree. Jenifer takes care of the ball better and is a better passer. Cane Broome is most effective when he can lower his head and just play playground ball. He was effective late first half cause Mick let him be selfish and go out and score. But that's not a recipe for winning, team ball game in, game out. Broome wasn't as effective 2nd half cause the defense adjusted. Jenifer is a distributor first. If we make open shots then he looks good. When we don't people want to point to him cause he doesn't score at will. Well that's not his game, Micks game or a winning have formula. You want to point blame in this game, first and foremost our players don't get up and play lights out in this game like Xavier does....and I guarantee that's not Micks doing. We just don't have cocky, punk ass players. You walk in that environment and learn from previous shootouts, you shouldn't need any more motivation than that. Other blame can be pointed to Kyle Washington. He just flat out didn't bring his A game or effort today. I actually thought the refs did a good job today. They let players play and we didn't really get shafted. I thought the charge on Cumberland was a bad call and the red that T'd Mick up was out of line cause the ref he was yelling at should have that decision, not a guy all the way across the court that has no clue what Mick was even complaining about. Obviously there was an altercation between Macura and Moore to get them T's, so maybe find out what's up before you T up a coach from 50 feet away. But the refs called an even game, being in Cintas that's somewhat of a miracle.

That’s college basketball man. You understand that this is common right? That a top 15 team at home will win most of the time. You act like this is just us

I’m not going to be surprised if mick makes a push to never play them again. After the jp stuff today, mick is going to want no part of the game.

When did he out play Broome? Jj being out there was a problem from the start. Mucura didn’t have to do anything on defense. He could help whoever he wanted. Don’t hate Jenifer but he isn’t a great shooter and he’s size is a problem.

Totally agree if we're going to win as many games as possible this year broome has got to start and play most of the game

Xavier people have no room to be upset. Mecura acts like an idiot. He deserves whatever he gets. If he wants to act like that, fine. But he needs to deal with it if not everyone wants to just take his crap.
