Not true.

“It came down to Rutgers, Xavier and Washington,” DC Assault coach Damon Handon told SNY.tv. “Rutgers got in late but once Eddie Jordan got the job that pretty much sealed the deal for Rutgers.

“Eddie coached him on our 17 and under team last year. Junior played for him. He loved playing for Coach Jordan.”

Sorry you took me literal. I'll clarify next time.

That is why many schools backed off. Room for growth is limited if he is already 21. I would be shocked if he is a force in college.

I think many NBA scouts would disagree with that. I think schools backed off b/c of eligibility concerns. I'm sure Mick was love to have a 21 year old freshman if they were good enough. He already prefers prep school and 5th year players because they are older.

That's true about Mick but I don't know about the NBA. They crush people and drop them in the draft because of age. That is something that SK will be fighting next year. If this kid is good enough to go pro after his first or second year it probably wouldn't matter but the odds don't favor that.

I agree that the NBA drops based on age, but not 21. Assuming a kid is not a complete project, which Etou might be, most college coaches would love to have older kids. I think age is an issue with Etou but more so because of any eligibility concerns, not because of developmental concerns.
