I cant stand this guy. He does not live in reality when it comes to these recruits. Even worse than that he is too lazy to actually do some sort of research before he just spews his bullshit about them. Im all for differing opinions on all topics but this guy is so far off the grid its aggravating. I know I should just ignore all the asinine things he CONSTANTLY says but it just drives me crazy how blatantly inaccurate his opinions and posts are 99% of the time. Deep breath......
u can't stand a Guy because he has different opinion about SPORTS than you?

Case and point. Not even in the ballpark of what I said. As for Gary his motor was an issue early in his career. Coach Davis went and saw him and flat out told him that if he didn't play much harder consistently that UC would not offer him. He took that to heart and ended up being arguably the best player in North Carolina getting quadruple, triple , and double doubles on a nightly basis. Some bullshit all star game gives ZERO indication of what kind of player or how big of a motor he has. When the lights turned on for the meaningful games this season Gary showed up and in a big way. Very excited about the dimension he will bring to next year's team.

Then you should speak with much more intelligence on the subject than you currently do. You are reactionary, uninformed, incendiary, and blatantly inaccurate in the majority of your posts. I dont know why there is a disconnect but there clearly is.

Didn't a coach at UC call him lazy in past? I didn't know that before I watched video. I've seem him play against guys 6-6'3 and wasn't going to nobody school to play basketball and dominate so talents there. Now its levels to this though when I put you up against somebody your size I expect you to at least look like you can dominate. What would you call smart to judge, playing against guys your size and speed or against guys your 5x more athletic than? Guys play ALOT harder in aau than they do for school teams. I know what type heart you have when you stand offish against the best of the best. You play hard against the best not other way around.

I don't have issues with differing of opinions but they need to be respectful both ways. I don't like calling a kid lazy before I see them play and frankly if he is as "lazy" as Yancy and puts up 12-15 points and 8 boards a game, I'll take it. Please keep this on track and respectful.

This exactly. Gary's motor will be fine. Saying he doesn't hustle based on a meaningless all star game is like making career predictions based on summer league.

This disqualifies you from this conversation. They absolutely do not. In school they play to win. In AAU they play to get noticed. There have been countless accounts of college coaches (Mick included) that have said AAU ball is ruining kids. They develop bad habits and just let their athleticism take over. In high school their routine is much more regimented and they are held accountable much more often. If only because they have classmates coming to all the games rooting them on. Im not saying kids dont play hard in AAU but there is so much run and gun that you dont see in truly organized ball that it makes for bad habits. Ask any kid what he would rather do. Win a state championship or an AAU tournament. 9 times out of 10 it is state. So that claim is bogus (as usual). Secondly when gary played last year in the EYBL against the top kids in the country he more than held his own. Was one of the best kids at the tournament so you're "heart" comment is baseless and has ZERO credibility. Kid is a player because of his talents and his MOTOR.

Haha wow, you bring back 24 and JackBauer151 comes out guns blazing.

Remember when Gary's mom said she had a prayer for her son and when he told her that Cincinnati is where he wanted to be when they got home, she all ready knew. He (still) in high school seems, from what I have seen looks like a GREAT kid and will trust the leadership of Mick and staff to take him to the next level. I just have a gut feeling that this kid will make the Bearcat nation very proud!!!

I was calling lazy based of game I watched. Ive seen other games and called him a instant impact player.

the top aau schools in a state would demolish an top state high school team. Yes a school title is more precious than an national aau title. Kids still for most part care more about aau because of travel and shoe deals. Parents spend $800-1000 a month with aau travel you tell me whats more relevent. Go to a couple aau tournament and look how many high profile coaches and at some nba scouts there are.
